Has anybody used these?
Ive been reading about them and apparently they are supposed to help get your stomach muscles etc back to normal...
Not sure if it's just a celeb fad, might try it though xxx

I looked at this last time round, bought one, and couldn't actually get it on for about the first three months!! :) I did wear spanx for a few weeks though most of all as it supported the, ERM, undercarriage as everything healed. Was actually pretty good xx

I might try it, nothing to lose (except inches hopefully lol) Xxx

I did binding after my son, I went old school and used a wrap/bandage but that was due to family input/heritage. It definitely works. Would definitely do it again but not sure when I will be able to if I have a section.

I'm having a section but was really interested in this previously. What did you bind with out of interest?? Think I'll probably go for a surgical compression garment to keep everything in place xx

My Grandma bound her tummy as is common from her heritage like Gilly she really recommended to me to either bind or get some kind of wrap. It's meant to help the stomach come together without fat getting between places it wasn't before. Probably more scientific than that haha xx

You can buy specific bands for post c section tummys xxx

I used wide, thin bandage. I find it comfortable and it didn't roll down like you see on many reviews for these specific girdles. Also imo you create a smoother outline as you're in control of where it starts and ends.
I'm assuming that you have to let your scar heal somewhat before binding as you do get warm underneath the binding, would be a nice breeding ground for an infection! They do offer post section girdles so I might have a read up on when they suggest using them. I wouldn't use one personally as I felt I had much more control by binding myself.

They look really expensive, I just don't want to waste £40-50 on them! Reading reviews though they seem to be really good! Xxx

I can't comment on the girdles but bandage wraps cost me nowhere near that and were easy to wash as needed.

Ive just bought a belly bandit one... Cost me £50! If it doesn't work I'll try these bands! I'm a sucker for expensive brand names, I believe everything I read lol!! The OH goes mad!! xxx

Interesting thread! Will definitely look into this x

These belly bandit ones are the ones that kourtney kardashian used lol... Or apparently used anyway but ive read loads of reviews and they all seem really positive, evidence shows that they do actually help your belly to recover faster and help with posture and back pain! Worth a try anyway xxx

Gilly how did u use ur bandages?? Did u just wrap them round u from under boobs down to hips?? Think I would like to try this this time round but I'm worried I will get it wrong n then make it worse!!

Pretty much, I did it quite high as it gave a smoother silhouette. I started off with quite a firm hold and then increased it to tight as I got more comfortable with it. It just helps the muscles come back together, plus it is extra support. I will 100% be doing it again as soon as I can.

My friend had a girdle and she got annoyed as it rolled down when she sat, or moved when walking and gave her lumps and bumps. For me the beauty of bandages is that you can adjust them to your own body shape and physique. I sometimes wore a vest underneath if the bandages felt too warm. I used the widest I could find at the time which was 15cm.

xx

Do some research. My OB told me they can cause blood clots & harm your uterus. And tbh I don't think they help really. My aunts all religiously do this and their bellies are out of control even though they aren't overweight. I haven't used anything, baby is 11 days old now & im just about back to normal. I didn't work out during my pregnancy either.

Really... The ones I read say that doctors recommend them? I'll have to read some more. What do you mean they are out of control? xxx
