I've had a quick Goggle and cannot find anything concrete!

I started exercising recently and overdid it, resulting in hurting my achilles tendon.

However now my foot is getting better I am noticing increasing pain in both knees?

Going out for an hour's walk is becoming increasingly painful? Exercise is out of the question.

I will book a Dr's appointment but for non emergencies like this I'll be waiting at least a week.

Anyone shed any light on this?

I had it up until I was about 5.5 months post birth. The pain was awful and the Dr gave me strong anti inflammatory drugs to get me through it!
Not alot you can do other than take painkillers x

I need to get out today and I need to walk a few miles so I am going to take 2 Ibroprofen but I don't like to take painkillers

Will keep an eye on things and see how it goes.

Yep I had it too. The doctor told me to take painkillers and keep moving and that it would eventually go away. Didn't believe her and thought it was set to stay. But it did eventually go away. Maybe about 6 months post birth. Did get back on the exercise classes pretty quickly. Not sure if that made it worse. Good excuse to have a break from it tho!!

I was almost hysterical with it at one point as I had joint problems anyway. Apparently it can take 12 months after stopping BF'ing to settle down. My hands, feet and shoulders were the worst. At one point my feet were so painful I couldn'twalk, hands so bad I couldn't lift a glass and I was almost screaming with the shoulder pain. And that was on nefopam and oramorph!

I keep getting told by GP that its common and it'll calm down, and in fairness it is much better. My feet are okay now and hands almost better.

I've started to suffer with this. Every joint feels hot and sore. Had for about a week now but thought it was just a bit of aching but thats it. Its worse in the mornings when picking toby up. I spoke to the doc and few friends and they said its normal and all you can do is exercise and take painkillers untill it goes.

Well I'm still having the same pain, and still taking a few painkillers before I go out (I walk about 2 hours a day)

Also now my hair seems to be falling out?? Another lovely side effect of pregnancy!!

How mad I got to 5 months post partum before anything kicked in! Just goes to show how much pressure our bodies are under when we are preggers.

I am sure 5 months of disturbed sleep isn't helping either, James sleeps through but not without waking me up several times a night :nap: :nap:

I think thats when the relaxin has run it's course, and you need to build up the ligaments again to support all your joints and also the hair thing, I always get it starting at exactly 5 mths too, like a second fringe starts coming....

hope you can get some relief soon Nat

Hey nat.

I had really sore knees after J to the point I could barely move. Started off I felt I must have been like over bending when like changing and picking him up from the floor etc. I read its apparently some hormone that makes ur pelvic elacticy so it can move to give birth and after birth the hormone stays about for a while ? I can't remember the name but I did a thread a while ago abt it if u click my "all threads posted" it should be in there as I rarely do threads.

It then started on my elbows. But touch wood its gone I had to take a codeine for mine. And I cast like a bitch aswell. My hairs are everywhere and it doesn't help when J pulls it out and clenches his hands with my hair caught in it. I'm having to clean my brush every few days because of it!

Ahh just seen this, yes relaxin is the name. Thanks lol xxxxx

I had this joint pain too.

I had it for quite some time afterwards as well. I don't have It now though. I'd guess it went somewhere between 7-10months after the baby was born.

My pain seems to now be located in my right knee and right foot???

Bizarre!!

It all kicked off when I started to exercise again which is a shame but I am still walking and watching what I eat?

Mine was my knees. For ages. I actually couldn't move at one point. My joints are fine I just find as if I keep putting my back out lol xxxxx
