hey all,

i posted a message a few weeks ago stressing about post baby weight...and 4 weeks later i am still worrying!

Iam no where near getting into my pre-pregnancy clothes and still in maternity i am swimming and walking as much as i can and eaing well but to me nothing is happening.

It is starting to get me down a bit - anyone else feeling/felt like this?

oh yes i know that feeling well. I hardly have time to eat anymore and am always up and about doing something even if it's just housework. I either have to wear my maternity clothes or had to buy a few size 16 things.. no where near my old size 12

does get me down too and finding i'm becoming more insecure around my OH (thinking he's gonna run off with another slim girl)

so your not only one hun

if ur exercising and eating well, ur doing right already, just keep it up.
it took 9 months to put on the baby weight so u got 9 months to lose it. u not long had ur baby, so dont expect to be pre-preg size already.
i can sympathise, i was 7st before, and the day i gave birth i was 11-&-a-half. im still 9st so a lot bigger than i was, and none of my old clothes fit (i live in pyjamas lol!) most of my exztra weight is on my tummy and i still look a bit pg! altho i must admit i am naughty and eat too many sweets still.
u sound like ur doing all the right things, just keep it up and the weight will come off

Hi there,

I've moved this to the Health Issues section as Ask a Mum is for pregnant ladies to ask Mums questions.

I cant say I am too stressed out about my post baby weight, but, when I didnt fit in ANY pre-pregnancy pants (i simply cant zip them, and Im not anywhere near it) except my training ones, I felt really low... :(

Just have to relax and understand that it will take time, diet and exercising to get back into shape!

Hopefully Ill manage it till next spring

Good luck to all of us!!!

I am the same i try to fit into old clothes and simply cant even get them above my upper thighs! Its horrible and i look in the mirror and feel so horrible sometimes. wont even let OH touch my belly i am that sensitive.

I know i shouldnt worry but i hate living in jogging bottoms and cant ever see it going :(

Why don't you buy yourself a couple of pairs of trousers that fit, although you might not be happy about getting a bigger size at least you'll be comfortable and will feel more confident that you're wearing clothes that fit properly (not maternity stuff). I really didn't want to get any bigger clothes but gave in because I felt so awful wearing things that made me feel even fatter. I put on 4 stone with DD and lost it all after 6 months, this time it's taking longer and I didn't put on as much (3 stone) but I've got 6lb to go. The weight will come off, it will just take a while for your body to let go of it. Don't expect that you'll end up snapping back into shape immediately, unfortunately the celeb culture makes women think they should (but in reality these women have personal chefs, trainers and nannys!).

Good luck and chin up, at least you've got a lovely new baby who doesn't care about a bit of tummy flub :)
