Possible to get pregnant if only BDing on ovulation day?

Has anyone here ever got pregnant with only BDing on ovulaution day? Is it possible?

Of course it is possible, it will probably lower your chances, but then that is your most fertile day and it only needs one spermy to swim super fast!

Thank you! But I was just thinking that if I ovulated yesterday morning and the egg only lived for 12 hours (which it could only live for) and I BDd last night, the sperm takes 10 hours to swim to the tubes, so the egg wouldn't be there by the time the sperm got to it.

Yes, although obviously BDing the few days before will give you a better chance but still think you'd be in with a chance. After all, it only takes one little swimmer!

Both times I've fallen pg, we've BD on CD20 (which is when I think I ov) so its worked for me - good luck x

Yes it is possible but like the others have said it does lower the chances. If you bd a few days before as well then there will be some spermies waiting for the egg already and giving you a better chance.

Cori just looking at your 2 charts there I think there could be an outside chance you are ovulating on cd5!
I think fertility friend isnt reliable, and I would consider the chance you are a very early ovulator, it isnt impossible!

Day 5??? What, every month? How does that explain the positive OPKs and EWCM around CD 9? I usually get cramps on the day I ovulate aswell.

Cori, bit of an odd question, but did you only bleed for one day this month, and if so, have you thought about taking a hpt? Your temps have been steadily rising for a few days now; how are you feeling?

No, I think I had about 2 days of light flow followed by a couple of days spotting, but there was some red blood, so I can't be pregnant if it was red, can I?

I actually did a pregnancy test yesterday, but it was negative.

Since about CD7 though, I've been really tired, sooo irritable, with sore boobs (even more sore than when I'm due on and they haven't shrunk again since before my period) and an increased appetite. I felt strange last night. I took my pulse and it was only 78bpm. I know that seems normal, but I usually have quite a fast pulse - between 80 and 100bpm at rest. But your pulse is supposed to be faster when you're pregnant, isn't it, so I can't be. Or can I? Oh God, I got drunk on Friday night and was taking Ibuprofen up untill Friday. Wouldn't the OPKs pick it up if I was pregnant aswell as a pregnancy test? Plus, I would be 3 weeks pregnant now. Wouldn't I have had a positive pregnancy test?

Hmmmmmmm...

Well I don't what your pulse is supposed to be like if you're pregnant, but I do know that it is possible to have a 'breakthrough' period when you would have been due on anyway. The opk's should pick up a pregnancy as well, but if you are pregnant and an hpt isn't picking it up, the opk isn't going to pick it up either. It's just odd that your period was so light! Are they normally that light?

Since I came off the pill last June, they have been either light or medium flow for a couple of days and then spotting for a couple of days. Last time I came off the pill, they came really heavy after about 7 cycles, but I'm still waiting for that to happen. Well, I don't really want to be on heavy, but if it helps me get pregnant, you know, lol. I'm gonna do another OPK in a bit. My boobs are killing me though, alot worse than when I'm due on.

Your chart is different this month Cori, wondering if Mel could be on to something here, but then if you done a pg test yesterday then maybe not. It is a strange one this time though mate
