Possible Miscarriage?

Hi,

I am feeling discouraged.

Me and my BF have been trying to conceive a baby and I started experiencing pregnancy symptoms over the past 2 weeks.

My period was due today. Yesterday I had light spotting which looked light and if brownish color.

I spotted twice and then got all clear. Towards evening my tummy cramps were very intense and my period came (what I thought) as discharge was of bright red color.

This morning it got worse and very heavy. Around 1 hour I went to toilet and passed out a clot, which I don’t even know what to think of. Never had anything like that happened to me.

My first pregnancy was fine, I conceived on month 2 of trying, had a missed period and then found out I was pregnant.

I have included few pics (sorry!) of what clot looked like.

Please can someone shed the light on what it could be?

I rushed and did it this week on Wed, which was 2 days earlier than my period was due. It was negative which is I think how it should be as it was early.

I'm sorry as I've not been in that position before so I really don't know what that clot is. Mine in my period are usually dark red and can be quite large but not as big as that.

From a medical point of view, if it were me I'd give my GP a call and ask for some advice over the phone. If it's too late to do that now then you can call 111 to ask to speak to an out of hours GP. Specifiy that it isn't an emergency though (unless you are bleeding excessively and or in pain, otherwise they will dispatch an Ambulance. 111 call handlers aren't clinicians so they listen for specific words which determines that we usually get sent when we aren't needed). So I'd call and say you need some advice from an out of hours GP. They should call you back within a couple of hours, and will be able to offer advice to you. They may even offer you an out of hours appointment somewhere locally.

Will probably give you best piece of mind. That's what I'd be doing right now anyway.

I would def speak to a doctor. That clot does look quite big and an odd colour.
Doesn’t mean anything bad but always best to check. They may do a blood test for preganancy too. Good luck

I recently suffered a mc. I was just over 6 weeks. I had horrendous cramping in tummy and legs pretty much the whole time I knew I was pregnant and then after a couple of weeks I started spotting then more and more blood. I didn't really have any clotting like your picture. I would definitely seek proper medical advice.

That pain is still there but bleeding got less and less.

They'll ask you about the pain as well. When I see a patient I ask about shoulder tip pin as it's a sign of ectopic pregnancy (oddly). Hope you get a good gp on the phone, when I ring at work they are usually pretty spot on. Sometimes I get a dragon but not too often and I'm sure they are nicer to the patient than they are to me at to ed, lol

Update: I called them and spoke to GP. Didn’t feel it was helpful enough but thought it was fair.

Since then my pains have slowed, but I am still bleeding which makes me believe it’s just a period.

GP said that no test can now confirm if it’s pregnancy or mis-pregnancy as Not enough time passed since missed period.

In fact, my normal period was due today. I think whatever I passed out earlier yesterday really threw me off as nothing like that happened to me before. So, it remains unanswered.
