When I had a scan at 28 weeks baby was head down. My midwife wrote that he's leph? (bad handwriting could be cepl)
Any ideas what this means?

think ceph means head down in medical talk - its short for something but i don't know what... :S

That sounds promising :) thanks! They should give you a medical dictionary for translations.

I have little pictures showing different baby positions on page 11 in my notes. Ceph means 'head down', and there is nothing for 'leph', so I think it's just bad handwriting :) xx

Just found this

  • Cephalic (or ceph): head-down
  • br: bottom down or breech
  • LOA: the back of your baby's head is on your left-hand side and towards the front of your tummy
  • ROA: the back of your baby's head is on your right-hand side and towards the front of your tummy
  • LOP: the back of your baby's head is on your left-hand side and towards the back of your tummy
  • ROP: the back of your baby's head is on your right-hand side and towards the back of your tummy

Maybe she wrote leph as baby is cephalic and longitudinal? Head down and lying length ways as opposed to transverse? I'm just guessing! lol xx

Yeah ceph means cephalic which is head down :D
She wrote 'ceph' for me too xxx

Yeh she wrote that for me too lol. I was slightly confused at first :).
xx

Oh I thought the thread was gonna be about sex

Very useful info though. Reading through my notes if difficult. Have to get past the rubbish handwriting and then off to google to find out what it all means.

I ask my mum what everything means because she did a midwifery course for a little while and has had three children herself xxx
