So many choices, so many companies, so many packages to choose from! Could you ladies tell me what pools you used, where you got it from and how you rated it? x

I used a Made In Water pool for all 3 of my home water births. Best pool ever in my opinion!

I had a la bassine, was very pleased with it - bought directly from the company online. Much cheaper than others on market and comes with everything

How funny, I've found the made in water website and it's la bassine pools they provide. Must be good then. Will look into prices through both xxx

Did you have the regular or maxi pool? Did you have the professional or standard thickness of plastic?

I've booked this one http://www.babylovebirthingpools.co.uk/hire-birthing-pool.html#prod1
I like that you can leave it set up and get in and out whenever you want before and after labour as the hire period is 5 weeks so be nice and relaxing with a big bump! my labours have been quick (too quick to wait to fill a pool last time) and as I really want a water birth I can just jump straight in soon as I want!

Made in Water! Used it for both home water births and it was great

i used pool in a bag. it's still in its bag sadly. never got the chance to use it. hospital birth in the end.

Do you need to hire one or can the community midwives bring one with them for you to lend??? My midwives said they can bring one with them if I wanted one but honestly I can't be bothered with the hassle of filling it up and then tidying it away. They also told me that you can just as easily have a water birth in the bath, so long as the water is deep enough to keep baby fully submerged till they're completely out. I'm planning on trying this.

You can give birth in the bath, but for me part of the benefit of the birth pool was the ability to move around and shift about and chance positions... That would have been impossible to do in my bath and there's no way everyone I wanted there could have fit in my bathroom either!

Yeah my bath isn't mega deep and is narrow so I could sit with legs open or even squat comfortably to birth baby, luckily we have a huge conservatory so will set it up there and practise how long it takes to fill etc. midwives don't have them in my area my another lady I know is selling me hers for £70 so I'm quids in x

Just bought mine this week for £70 :) Got the la bassine! But not for any reason, just because it was close by to collect on eBay lol!
