Hiya i didnt know weather it was anything to worry about but my mum thinks it is and shes a midwife! Ryan has been formula fed since 2 weeks old and ever since i can remember his pooh has been a dark green and im talking DAAARK green!!!! Mum said to take a sample to the doctors but i think id feel a bit stupid taking in a pot of pooh!! lol

This is what I thought. But my GP told me green spinach poo was 'normal'.

I dont believe a word that idiot says though. I was worried enough to ask about it. I hope your GP is better than mine.

Green poo is fine in formula fed babies- Haydens poo was always dark green until i moved him onto SMA white-
if you are worried ask the HV or doctor and if they want a sample they can give you a specimen pot- if Ryan is happy and healthy otherwise theres nothing to worry about- the only other thing it could be is a gastic problem which you would know about because Ryan would most probably be in some sort of discomfort after feeding..don't be afraid to ask the proffesionals if you are worried

Iron-fortified formula - Some formula-fed babies will develop a case of green poop from the iron in the formula they are taking. As long as your baby is happy and not having any problems with constipation, there is nothing to worry about

green poo is ok. Its black poo you have to watch. Tis a sign of malnutrition. or can be

I could be speaking complete rubbish but I think poo goes green if you have excess iron as you poo out the iron
