May seem like a silly question just wanted to know what everyone thought.
NO CHEATING LOOKING ON LINE
ALL NORTHERNERS :shhh: :shhh: :shhh:
Of to work now
i'll tell you later why ive done this poll

i vted no....thiink its entirelly in englad, below the scotish border...

I voted yes
I thought it was put there by the romans to seperate the 2 countries
But I bet it's one of those questions everyone thinks is right but its not...................like everyone thinks Hitler was german but he was actually Austrian.

Hurry up geordie lass, I want to google it! :rotfl:

I think maybe it used to be the border and that's what it was originally made for but since then the borders have changed.

I think... but I'm crap at history so if I'm really wrong don't mock me ... :( :D

Borders sure have :D

This is a trick question.... depends when you are looking at it.

Some of it is still there on the Scottish side, but the actual boarder did change donkey-years ago.

Thats what I thought tbh, but not sure so I voted have no idea :)

We should know this shouldnt we? :rotfl:

I voted yes... because fir several centuries, Hadrians Wall marked the divide between England and Scotland...but technically its a no... the actual Scottish border occurs some miles northward and was designated so during the reign of Edward I...

but i like the whole Roman era thing... so its why I voted yes...out of personal preference.

Its all England's - just south of the Scottish boarder. Nice place to go if you can - although everytime i have been it has been really windy!

The answer is No and it never was
Northumberland has always been Northumberland England
Though Berwick has been faught over for centurys
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mo ... orthumbria
Shows it is England as early as 600bc
Hadrians wall was never built as a Scotish/ English boarder
it was bulit to mark the limits of Roman power
The Romans couldnt handle us Northumberians :D
It also saw very few battles it wasnt really built to keep out the Scots
But actually a trading post and tax
each side moved from one to the other but they made those on the North side pay a toll to cross the wall. Those on both side traded with each other.
The Romans wanted to have a visual barrier from those they ruled and those they didnt to try and have some sort of control over the comings and goings of the opposition

Northumberia used to be much bigger it actualy use to stretch as far south as the Humber

Sorry i am going on a bit   I will stop now
Any way to answer is no and it never was

can i ask why you asked? lol

Living down South being a Northerner
ive lost count of the amount of people who think im Scottish because i come from North of Hadrians wall
They all seem very supised when i tell them no im not Scottish, and no Northumberland is not in Scotland. so many Southerners ive met think that Northumberians and even Geordies are actually Scottish.
Just wanted to know how wide spread that idea was.

I even had one person say to me they thought the lake district was near Glasgow :?
