sorry for duplication - this is also in tri 1 but thought i'd put it in here too..
Good afternoon ladies,
I have not been on for a few days because I have been down at my in laws to be in Bristol..
When we were driving down on Thursday I felt a bit crampy but I just put it down to being sat in the car and didn't think too much about it. The cramps carried on during Friday afternoon but they weren't too painful and so I didn't really worry. But then I started to get some brown discharge.....again, I wasn't too concerned but rang the midwife just to check and she said just to keep an eye on it and if it was no better by Monday to go to EPU when I got back up home. I remembered everyone saying so long as it was not britgh red, you were okay.
Well on Saturday night the cramps started to get noticeably more uncomfortable......and they seemed to be coming in waves like contractions......constantly dull but then seemed to peak to very uncomfortable which lasted about 30 seconds. I was now beginning to worry...went to bed and was woken by terrible pain and went to loo, wiped and red blood... So off to A&E I went.....
Had bloods done, paracetomol via a drip and the pains got really bad, went to the loo and (TMI alert) passed a clot and a lot of blood. My heart sank.......I looked into the toilet and it was just clearly blood...there was no tissue as such but i still thought the worst....
I was taken by ambulance to another hospital where there was a gyny ward and I had to go through a very painful internal exam by the doctor....
It turns out my cervix is still closed and she couldnt say whether i had had a miscarriage or if it was still going to happen or if it was just one of those bleeds that pregnant ladies can have. she said 'if i thought you were miscarrying, i would tell you'......she said although it looked like a lot of blood to me, it wasn't a huge amount in the grand scheme of things. They took more bloods and sent me home (at my request) with strict instructions that any heavy bleeding i had to go back in.
I am having a scan on Monday morning which will tell me whats going on......
The only glimmer of hope i have is that my cervix was still shut and she said the pain could be down to my body trying to expel the blood clots she could see at my cervix and also the other glimmer is that the blood has more or less stopped.....didnt really have any after i came home and it's gone to more or less nothing all day, just pinkish watery...def not the dark blood i did have. plus the pains have significantly subsided...
sorry for the huge essay.....wondered if anyone had had a similar experience...
please keep everything crossed for us......xxxxx
