ive managed to keep about a childs beaker full of water down this morning and was given advise by the lady on the phone at the drs(they didnt have any appointments left :wall: :wall: )to try dry toast, one slice down

gotta ring the drs in the morning to try and get an appointment, starting to think us pregnant women should have an on call dr

Hi mummyov2,

Hope you are starting to feel a bit better now....

I had a terrible stomach upset when I was about 14/15 wks too and I was so so paranoid that it would
be harmful to the baby. I was in India on holiday at the time -so mine was down to the notorious delhi-belly!
But I had for about two weeks non stop and I went to the hospital several times as I was so worried - they must have thought my god, this woman is neurotic! The healthcare there is very very good but they just kept instructing me to keep taking electrolytes and said that food was not important as long as I did'nt get dehydrated - obviously to eat food if i could but the fluids are far more important and the baby is only at risk if you become severely de-hydrated.
So don't worry, LO will be fine just keep drinking fluids to flush it all through your system.
There isnt much the doc can prescribe for it really...

Get well soon

Hi,

hope you're feeling better. I think the baby will take the nutrition it wants from you at this point- kind of leech-like! If you don't eat enough iron for example it just takes it from your body so you get weak but the baby is ok- that's kind of how the body works I think so as long as you're drinking plenty it should be fine. Just rest and look after yourself.
