I kept my Maiden Name when i married my OH and would love to pass it on to all of my kids to keep it going but if i struggle to match it up or names get too long i'd be happy to keep it just with the boys so it gets carried on to some degree....

So the last two names would be E l l e r b y S m i t h (not hyphenated)

Here are the boys options so far

Thanks LMP x

I think Luke Ellerby Smith has the best ring to it :D

I really like the surname Ellerby and without the hyphon it sounds like another middle name, really unusual but funky at the same time!

I like Luke too but am biased cause its my brothers name and if we have a boy will probably be a middle name, I think the surname sounds fine, will you be having any middle names?

I really like the name Luke, goes nice with your surname too.

Maddison is a girls name to me. Too many Valley girls and so on with that name online for me to think of it as a boys name. Sorry.

Luke works best for me as its a shorter first name to go with a longer surname. Just flows more easily.

BTW as someone has just pointed out, Ellerby could be considered by some as a middle name if you don't use a hyphen.

Thanks Guys

I think Luke is secretly my favorite too!!!

and opps sorry i didn't explain my self properly Ellerby (my maiden name) will be a middle name not a double barrelled surname if you know what i mean......

Its looking like luke is winning so far then..........

I think getting rid of any hypens is a good idea if you want both names on all your LO's school work. I say that because my cousins LO has a double barrel but there's tendancy for them to just use the second of the double barrel name, making them into one will mean they'll both always be used, especially for those lazy peeps who just do an initial-dash-initial

I voted Joshua, my fave of the bunch, but at the end of the day how often do you call anyone by their full name? Except in jest or if they're in trouble, so them 'sounding right' will just happen whatever your call LO, as it will be their name and perfect for them  Very best wishes
