placenta pate..

come on who was the 4% that opted for the placenta pate?... name and shame!!!!!

My husband is definately staying up at the head end... i want a sex life after!

why do these people who opt for a home birth (and invite a full camera crew around) leave the house looking a tip? if your gonna have your house on telly wouldn't you think they'd put a decent sheet on the bed.. clear the clutter away... i saw one woman give birth in her living room... she put newspaper down on the floor... what is all that about? don't you do that for a puppy when your toilet training it! the husband sat watching the telly with a sandwiche whilst the head was crowing! even asked how much longer... how could you sit in your living room again after that....

I consider myself to be pretty open minded, but eating something grown by the human body.....EWW!

It feels a bit like cannibalism :puke:

As for having pets in the room, I could imagine my cat growling and running off with the placenta

I was up for eating mine but was scared of what peoples reactions would've been so i left it. Never even got to see mine :(

I dont look at it at canibalism(sp?) just the same as eating a nail or a bogie as some people do but less disgusting :D

I would've done it for curiosity. They look like they would taste like liver mmmm yummy

You are a brave woman  If you have any more kids you should give it a go. I dare you!!!

Who cares what other people think really??

i couldn't eat one. But each to their own i suppose.

ive looked at all of mine.

Mine looked like a great big haggis! ....hated the sight of it :puke:

was going to put a pic of a placenta up, but I dont want to make you all sick :?

I agree - each to their own! i personnally don't know anyone who would even think about it but if you fancy giving it a taste then go for it and don't worry about what others say... if you do thou would you come back on and let us know how you cooked it!

I personnally don't know anyone who eats nails or boggies either!!!! or maybe i do and i didn't know...

Its just wrong. Why would you even want to eat it? I wouldnt mind seeing it but eating it? Nooooooooooooooooo! it is supposed to be good for you though isnt it, no i couldnt at all, people say its like steak but to be honest i wouldnt even eat a nine month bit of steak! :puke: :puke: :puke:
sod that, give me a nice big juicey pizza or a big lasagne, i dont fancy eating something thats just passed through my lady bitz!

Most animals eat the placenta - snickety snackety...

In countries where women do routinely eat the placenta there is a lower incidence of PND. Seems you replenish some essential vitamins/minerals that are lost during birth and pregnancy.

Just FYI - that's why one might want to eat it.

I didn't.

i wonder if you diced it up and made a stew it may be easier to eat it. You could pretends its just really tender beef or something.

maybe a bit of french mustard.. or salad cream! that goes with everything!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

perhaps served with chips and tomato sauce it could be quite tastey.

i'm up for it now!!! he he - wonder how it would take in a korma? another idea.. smoke it!!!!! not in a pipe or a rollie.. i mean like smoked salmon...

do you reacon it smells when you cook it? can't do smells at the moment...
