Yolk sac was visible and measurements were fine. One thing I asked was whether the placenta was visible. The ultrasound technician said that it is not visible yet because it’s still early.

I’ve seen other posts where people have mentioned seeing the placenta at this stage, so it’s made me a bit worried. The ultrasound technician seemed perfectly happy about everything but I am an anxious person.

Could someone help put my mind at rest please? EFDA9B3D-7052-4A8B-8692-451FFDCF6AC0.jpeg

I didn’t see my placenta until the 20 week scan.

I assume that’s normal as none of my ultrasound technicians ever mentioned it. To my knowledge they didn’t even look for it.

Google says 18 weeks they will look for he placenta and check position

Phew.. thank you! I googled it and it freaked me out, as some people said they saw theirs at 10 weeks. I think it must just look like a thickened womb lining on one side, as I believe it looks like it blends in at first.

Thank you for the comments

Your baby looks adorable. Do you have any names yet?

Thank you DH and I like ‘Eloise Grace’ for a little girl but he shoots down my boy name ideas

We’ve only discussed names once, so we have a bit of planning to do. Have you thought of any names?

At my early scan they never looked for the placenta as it's still forming at that stage. I believe as you've said that it looks like a thickened womb lining so hard to tell where exactly it is. I know by the 12 weeks scan they can see it, but still don't throughly check it until the 20 week scan :)

As long as all looks well with baby that's the main issue at the min xx

That’s perfect - thank you! I’m just a worrier by nature
