I am 6 weeks pregnant & am petrified of having a miscarriage. I am hardly having any pregnancy symptoms, the only symptoms im getting is tiredness and sore breasts & the occasional cramping. I know im probably worrying over nothing, i just dont feel pregnant! & every time i go & look to buy something in the shops for baby all the responses im getting are "dont buy that its still early days" i know its still early days but when all my family keeps reminding me its making me so scared. I feel worried that im going to have a scan & not see a heartbeat. Can anyone help reassure me please? When will i hear from the midwife?

Didnt want to read and run, sorry I am still TTC so cant be any help at all but I do have anxiety and OCD and I know that I will be in a similar mind set if it ever happens for us. I wish you all the best at the scan and it goes swimmingly x

Thank you! I know i should count myself lucky as im blessed to have concieved! I wish you all the luck in ttc!

I didn't have any symptoms during my last pregnancy apart from feeling tired and I don't this time either. It is a very worrying time, just take each day as it comes xx

Hi flowerpetal,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's really tough to be excited about pregnancy when you're so anxious. I've had 2 early losses and needed ivf for this pregnancy. The first few weeks I was a wreck and cried with worry all the time. Every cramp or twinge I panicked. I've got pretty major sickness going on which even though it's horrific is reassuring. Your symptoms all sound perfectly normal though, and what most women get too. I'm one of 4 children and my mum didn't have sickness or any major symptoms with any of us. Maybe you'll just be lucky like that!

As hard as it is, I realised stressing and panicking myself will do nothing to change the outcome. So try your best to enjoy it for the moment hun. You never know, next week you could be so sick you'll be cursing yourself  xx

I wouldn't worry, I am the same and this is my 3rd baby and no symptoms with any apart from tiredness here and there. Enjoy it, it may change :)

Thank you very much everyone! Youve definately reassured me! I had a call off the midwife this morning gor my booking appointment so thats another thing to look forward to!

I also have to thank you for that link! I too am terrified of having a miscarriage.
Sending love
xx

Hi Flowerpetal,

Do not fret my love, I am 11 weeks and to date am yet to have ANY symptom other than tiredness! With each week that went by I thought they'd kick in but nothing. I have (for other reasons) already had scans and all is healthy with the baby. My midwife told me its an old wives tale that no symptoms means anything and that we should just think ourselves lucky. There is still plenty of time for yours to kick in if they are going to... ps. as a tip, ask your mum and any sisters you may have what their symptoms were like. Apparently no symptoms can run in families and that's certainly true of me, my sister and my mum!

On the buying things note...you do what feels best, but I know I have put off doing anything like that until week 12, it's just to manage my own expectations more than anything and would highly recommend it as someone who has miscarried previously. Get yourself out of the danger zone and then go mad!! ;) xx

I'm the same. I have had 2 miscarrages and am currently 5 weeks pregnant. I am filled with worry!!
