Hi

I am looking at getting pet insurance for my 2 cats and wonder if anyone can share with me who they are with? I have 2 to insure.

Thanks

argos is good! x

Sent from my shit hot phone! Fo shizzle home girls.

My cats are with pet plan, its about £25 for both. They are good but the excess is £70, we had to claim for emergency treatment recently

x

We're with Direct Line for our two cats. It costs us £17 now, we had a lower premium last year for signing up to them online.

I had my dog insured with more than.. They were really good. Quick and easy when I had to claim vets fees. Getting another dog in a few weeks and probably go with them again. I looked at petplan but for exactly the same as what i get with more than, petplan wanted £7 more a month..

We are with Pet Plan for our two cats and when I worked at the vets we always recommended Pet Plan to anyone who came in and asked. They are one of the expensive companies but will pay out on more of the procedures and medications without hassle. You will find cheaper companies but when it comes to it, they will try to pay out on as little as possible or sometimes they wont cover any of the costs at all.

Doing ours through the post office x

I think Petplan is the only / main insurance that vets recommend, however I went with Healthy Pets as a friend had to claim twice and they were fab both times

X

Monkey- just seen your post about Petplan!! Which proves my point that it's recommended by Vets :-) x

That's cause they are the only ones to gave us the least amount of trouble when claiming for anything :D Also all the people in the office used them personally.

Healthy pets have been good for me even when paying out for very expensive claims for my old boys heart condition. Sadly he passed (he had a long and happy life) but they were always good to deal with.

We have four cats insured with pet plan, they give you discounts for multiple pets and our vets will deal direct with them so no need to fork out first then claim

Petplan seem good but more than are just as good and cheaper.. I just phoned them to inform them that I'd be making a claim. Filled out the claim form and they dealt directly with the vets, and paid the money straight to them. All I had to do was pay my £70 excess.. They paid for all his chemotherapy and I didn't have any hassle with them in the slightest. I got a letter saying the money had been paid to the vets so was completely hassle free.. I'm just making my final claim just now and they have been brilliant! Deffo going with them again :-)

I would do some searches and strike out the best deal as everyone gonna recommend different companies and just pickle your head more than searching for quotes lol xx

I use animal friends after petplan wanted £80 per month to insure our dog after 1 claim when he was a pup!

Animal friends have been fab - they pay the vet directly so we don't have to try and find the money other than the excess first. Claimed 3 times over the past 4 years and he has full life insurance. Only cost £26 per month for him and they will pay out every time for his bladder stone condition for rest of his life.

Most insurance companies stop insuring them when they turn 8 but Animal friends just put him on the the higher excess plan instead as older dogs are bound to get ill more.

Can't fault them and will insure any others I get with them.
My only gripe is they don't cover parrots :/ :p

I've been looking at animal friends as they come out the cheapest so good to know they come recommended x

Good old savers account :) had 5 dogs for 9 years, only one small vet bill so far ( touch all the woods) got a nice looking account for them now :)

I'm with Petplan but it costs me nearly £20 a month for my puppy so I'm considering cancelling it. Just fed up of being skint and it all adds up

xxx
