period pain/stomach cramp

the last few days on and off i have been getting pains like a periods pain or like i'm gonna have the squits not all day long but sometimes it last for a good few mins before wearing off is this just normal? its not like contractions as it lasts too long so don't think its braxton hicks? its more later on in the day once i've food inside me! anyone else have this?
