Hi, I have been registered on here for a while but have never posted. I am currently 30+1 and for about 4 hours I have been having some cramps in my lower abdomen. They aren't hugely painful but they are uncomfortable. I have rang my assessment unit as baby has not been as active today as usual, they have advised a bath and a cold drink to ease cramps and encourage baby to move. This is my second pregnancy but no babies yet, he is my rainbow baby. In the past half hour I have been feeling a kind of tingling pressure sensation in what I think is my cervix, I don't want to keep ringing the assessment unit and be a pain but he is so precious to me I can't help but worry that something is wrong. Since calling he has been moving but the cramps are still coming. I feel silly calling the midwife all the time I guess I just want confirmation that I am either being a pain or that I should just call them back, thanks for reading

Hi Tashablu! As far as I understand, if he's moving and you're not leaking anything you shouldn't be, all is well. Having said that, don't ever worry about ringing the assessment unit (unless they politely ask you to stop) and if things change, then absolutely phone. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm 31 weeks today and I've already been down to be assessed a few times due to baby being lazy! Quite often the monkey decides to wriggle loads as soon as it's getting attention from the midwives! So I know how you feel about feeling silly for ringing them. Every time I've been though, they've told me it's never ever silly to ring so honestly just ring them again, they'll probably be expecting a phone call for an update anyway! Hope everything is ok :-)

Never be worried to call the assesment unit. The midwifes there will tell you the same thing if your worried call them its what they are there for.

Remember babies DONT move less towards the end of pregnancies they dont run out of room. If your babies movement changes then please don't wait to call.

Thank you all for the advice, I called back when my OH got home from work and they monitored little one for abit. He started doing back flips when he was getting midwife attention so all is good, thanks again x

ive been getting period pains for months. glad all is ok that normally happens! ive been in a few times to be monitored and everytime shes woken up lol

Glad baby was ok. They always wake up as soon as you get checked out. Its the same once they are here aswell. They seem really unwell and as soon as you get them to the Drs they perk right up.

Glad all is well, the pains sound like Braxton Hicks which are practice contractions. Don't believe the bunkum that says they're not painful cus they flipping well can be!
