It doesn't make sense that my pelvis hurts more when I'm lying in bed than standing and putting weight on it! I'm a tad achy when I first stand but once the old joints get oiled again I'm fine however moving and rolling over in bed KILLS!
Does anyone know why it hurts more in bed than standing?

i was exactly the same......think its to do with nerves

i get this too, they say putting a pillow inbeteen your knees but i cant stay still in bed long enough to get the benefit of it, i think its cos the pelvis isnt a fixed joint and it rubs in places and it can tilt too, thats why we get so much pain?

I've tried the pillow thing and it drives me mad! Such a bulky thing in bed with me. The duvet between my legs is much more comfortable...only I end up with my bum hanging out the covers....

...and then OH compains when you snuggle up to him to warm it up again!!! Yeah I know!! :rotfl:

It's all this spd thingy, ever so painful!

Unfortunately, the only cure is to give birth  try taking one panadol, put your feet up, possibly with 2 pillows under your feet and try to relax. I get this alot and it takes me around 5 - 10 mins at times to turn over in bed grrrrrrrr

And not only that, with an ever increasing belly, I roll onto my back and have to stop half way to let the baby catch up with me!!!

i kind of had this prob. it's all the persure from baby, when i rolled over the pain would be too much, i would have to wke up to roll over,

don't really know why only why it happens when lying it down.

I have this problem too if I sit still too long and in bed. I have had it for afew weeks but didn't want to mention it in case it turned into SPD. Gonna get a ball I think. On the plus side, it's not got any worse, so maybe it won't develop into anything worse. Some people end up on crutches...

im only due on the 5 th of january and i can't walk. I am buying a support belt to see if that helps. I cannot get out of bed without help. Im in agony when i walk and cant stand for ages. I hope i do get some help if it worsens as i get bigger and sorer. Hope you get sorted soon .

I'm Ok once I'm up - it's getting up and rolling over that hurts most!

I sympathise with all you ladies as I have had this problem since I was 8 weeks pregnant! I have been signed off work ever since and have been having physio every week. I am due in six weeks and just can't wait to have my body back to normal although the physio has said that it will take my back a little while to get better, but that having the baby is the only cure.

It hurts when you're lying down because you've inflamed it moving around during the day and the pelvic joints have been rubbing against each other - it flares up when you are resting which makes it seem like the resting has caused it.

says the physio.
