Hi i have been geting some pain in the last few days in my groin that seemed like nerve problems.

I did some (very little) research on the internet and my symptoms seem to tally with SPD.

I have a GP appoinment tomorrow so will be able to mention it then.

does anyone else have this or know more about it to let me know things i can do to allevate the symptoms.

it seems to be triggered by walking.

Here is a link if anyone wants to know more.

hope you feel better soon, i know how you feel have been in agony on and off for a few weeks now, pain gets worse when walking, climbing stairs or getting up from lying down.

SPD is now known as PGP - Pelvic Girdle Pain (just to make things confusing  )
Have a look at this leaflet:
http://www.acpwh.org.uk/docs/ACPWH-PGP_Pat.pdf
This is the same leaflet I got from the physio.

I hope you don't have PGP but if you do make sure you get help as soon as possible. I kept going and just kept reducing what I could do. Now I'm on crutches and housebound

Take good care of yourself!!!!

Oh Kalia you poor thing, I hoope you deliver early so the pain can go!

Thasnk you for your leaflet i found it really helpful, i had been wondering if i could/ should keep going to the gym and i nice to know i should (but i will check wiht GP first), but very upset to probably have to give up high heals. Don't really own a pair of flats! Luckily will move to flip-flops as soon as the weather improves (ha ha ha ha ha).

Hope your GP appointment goes well :D

I am having an talk next week with the occupational nurse at work. I'll let everyone know if she suggests anything interesting :D

thanks Mildly i'd apprecaiate that, anything that decreases symptoms would be great.

Aww Sandi... I hope that your pain goes away and that it turns out that it's not SPD.

aawww poor you

This is my second pregancy with SPD or whatever name the beast wants to call itself now

'A rose by any other name would smell as sweet' lol

I hope that if it is what you have got you do not get it in its worst form.

With my first pregnancy, I had it from 35/36 weeks. It went as soon as I gave birth. Other people end up with walking aids or wheelchairs after. Great stuff!!

Keeping active is importnant. That's what I did. But try to avoid active that aggravates it. Like running up and down stairs too often.

My GP agreed it was most likely that, but said she wont refer me jsut yet, she has made suggestiosn to try and allevate teh symptoms. If it doesn't go in the next 10 days i can get a phsio referral.

I have been getting les pain the last couple of days, but it is still there.

Hope you get your referral Sandi, well actually it'd be better if the pain went away.. but you know what I mean  :)

fuffins, have you found the pain worse second time around? I know it tends to start earlier in subsequent pregnancies but I was wondering if it felt more intense? Also just out of interest are you trying swimming to see if it helps? :D
