I've just recently been diagnosed with pcos, I was told by the consultant that due to me having regular periods I won't need any fertility treatment. ?. I feel like she was fobbing me off as everything I've read say pcos ladies need treatment to conceive. My progesterone is also border line low and one 21 day blood showed that I didn't ovulate ?. Anybody else here with pcos that can help me?. x

Well technically if your having periods you're ovulating though at the start of my PCOS I was having a period every other week, there was no way I was ovulating between that!

I see you've been TTC since 2015, that in itself should warrent you to receive treatment. Can you get a second opinion? x

Lots of pcos ladies don't need treatment but equally some will need assistance. I have pcos and very erratic cycles but I've still conceived naturally twice. I did end up needing treatment as my cycles were so erratic it made it very difficult and drawn out.

How long are your cycles and which day do you think you ovulate? Were your day 21 bloods done on the correct day? If they were and they showed no ovulation I would question why they think you don't need treatment. As Belfa said you have been ttc long enough for investigations and treatment anyway so I would push for more. Am I right in thinking you don't live with your partner though? At my clinic you have to have been living together for over a year to qualify for treatment, or are you going private?

Yes not all PCOS ladies need help, I have largely regular periods and have had natural pregnancies. That being said if you're not ovulating and have been ttc over a year then then I'd go back and see another doctor x

Snowbee my cycles are regular 27-29 days, I always get a positive opk usually day 13 of my cycle so my 21 day bloods were spot on. My results were 15, which shows I didn't ovulate, then a 27 and 28 which is borderline low but apparently I did ovulate. I went private for a consultation and a scan. I'm going to book an appointment with my GP and ask about a second opinion. x
