After a round of hormone blood tests, I have just been to see Dr for results - my LH level is raised which could suggest PCOS - I am being sent for an ultrasound in the next 2 months to check my ovaries.

I had blood tests on day 23 and day 26 of a 38 day cycle and it did not show I had ovulated - despite a strong postive OPK on day 24.

Can anyone give me any advice , I literally have no idea what this means for the future.
Had a miscarriage last October also.

xx

Hi hun, how long are your cycles in general?
I have been diagnosed in June with PCOS and an still learning what to expect. If you have an internal scan they can see quite clearly if there are any cysts and I believe if there are more than 12 then its classed as PCOS.
I have been having acupuncture which has showed my progesterone levels go up and down but not enough to ovulate if you have PCOS OPKs are not reliable.
I hope this helps

Hey,

Cycles have ranged from 28-41 days, last 2 were 38 days. OPKs in the past have been near positives for 2 weeks so no idea, then last month we dtd on Friday, Sat morning had a strong positive OPK and did not catch, blood test did show I didn't ovulate though :( despite having a period. Just waiting for my scan date to come through now so I can find out more, Dr has said about putting me on metformin.

Are you on meds?xx

No I had a HyCoSy, to see if my tubes are blocked and they are not sure about one side so having the laperoscopy and ovarian drilling just waiting on a date, no point in giving meds if I can't get an egg to the sperm!! I gave up on opks as i could never get an honest reading.

I hope your scan date comes through quickly xxx

Yes the OPKs are useless!
I hope it comes through quick as well :) xx

I have PCOS but do not have any cysts on my ovaries...my problem is currently the hormone in balance (you'd think they could treat it right?).

I know it's frightening but the positive thing is that there is treatment available to allow you to ovulate which means that as soon as things get moving you could be on the road to your BFP, now you're aware of the issue.

Good Luck!
