hi ladies,

So I learnt something interesting today for residents of the UK.

Following changes to child benefits in 2013, lots of new families decided it wasn’t worth claiming their time claiming the benefit because they earn over the threshold. This meant they were also missing out on ‘national insurance credits’ which help protect your pension whilst you’re out of work looking after your children.

As a result tens of thousands are looking at a reduced pension in retirement as a result unless something is done.

Below is a petition to protect mothers’ pensions whilst they take time out to care for their kids.

There are a lot of mums and soon to be mums on here that I thought might be interested so the link is below.

Petition: Make sure mothers get National Insurance credits towards their state pension

Thanks, it seems women always get a rough deal because they are the primary care giver normally!
