Painkillers/antibiotics in the 2WW.

Just wanted your opinions girls. Have had bad ear ache in and off for 2 weeks. Went the walk in centre yesterday and they said my ear canal was inflamed but didn't look infected. They suggested I take ibruprofen and cocodamol (ignore spellings) and go back if it got worse. I took some ibruprofen as it was painful but have stayed away from the other.

Anyway woke up today in even more pain, got reduced hearing in it now and it hurts when I open and close my jaw. Phoned the doctors and just waiting for them to phone back will probably have to go in, just worried they'll give me antibiotics and I'm 2/3dpo.


Anybody got any advice? Should I take theming should unstop the painkillers.

I had the same last 2ww and they gave me amoxicillin which doc said was fine to take if pregnant. He told me not to take ibuprofen tho and to use paracetamol or cocodomol instead (even tho I'd taken 2 already!) you'll be fine x x

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Daley!! If you did conceive, your egg will still be on its way to the uterous at the mo, and wouldn't start taking anything from your body until after implantation - so you wouldn't need to worry just yet.

I have been poorly since 2nd Jan and have been on antibiotics for 1 week and pain killers most of the other days - as we are such keen ttcers I expect we will know as soon as it is possible to know if we are preggas, and then we can stop taking anything we shouldn't be!

Just check with the docs - but you need to get your ear sorted, so try not to worry!

I am on the mend thanks Daley - had blood taken this week to see why I keep getting 1 bug after another - so waiting results. Hasn't stopped me getting a couple of crucial bds in this week though!!

Just got back from the doctors and I have a nasty ear infection!

She has given me drops and cocodamol for the pain, which she has said is fine for me to take. She said in terms of TTC. Ditch the OPK's, relax and bd 2/3 times a week and I'll be pregnant before I know it! Lets hope it's that simple!
