pain when expressing

Hi ladies, just a quick question.

I'm currently exclusively expressing using a Medela Swing. When I begin to pump on the first breast I get pain in both breasts about 1-2 mins in, usually more intense in the boob that I'm not pumping from.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? It just seems quite odd is all! Xx

Yea that's normal! Bit like a tingly electric shock in your nipples?!?! That's your milk let down, u will notice the milk starts coming out faster!x

It's not in my nipples it's like inside my boob oh well as long as it's normal xx

Sounds like let down, I get a really intense pain deep in my breast about a minute in xx

I know it's annoying that there isn't a fact sheet for BFing mums. Xx

I get that. I also get it if Ollie starts to cry!!!! I end up with wet patches!!!

I actually haven't noticed them leaking when she cries, but they leak loads anyway lol! It gets all over my sofa, thankfully its leather and I just wipe it down! Xx

I didn't realise how hard things were with the single pump until I got this lol, I got nearly 8oz in 15 mins xx

I know this pain well - like the other ladies have said- its let down

Also - now that my left boob is all healed, my right boob is now cut and bleeding.

We now need a thread "10 things they don't tell you about breastfeeding"

And you've been single pumping
