Hi guys, need a little help. Is it normal to get pressure pain in the top of your bum where your coxic is, as when I sit down I can feel quite a bit of pain at the top of my bum and alot of pressure. Wouldn't notice it if I was to stand or lay down but only if I sit up directly onto my bum .... Bit worried!!!

I haven't experienced this myself, but I have heard other girls in 2nd tri mentioning this, so I'm presuming it's quite common :)

Hi Ems, I have something similar, I get pain around my coxic and also shooting pains through my bum cheeks and down my legs. My research has led me to think it is mild SPD. For me it's usually just twinges of pain if I bend over, but not every time. Although last Thursday, spent the afternoon shopping in town and by the end of the day I was in quite a lot of discomfort and ended up limping my way back to the train station. I haven't spoken to the midwife about it yet, mainly because it hasn't been so bad that I needed to call her about it and haven't had a face to face appointment for a while, but I've got a monthly check-up tomorrow so I think I'll mention it to her then, just so she's aware in case it starts getting worse and she'll be able to give me some advice on how to manage the discomfort.

Hi! I am having physio for exactly that at the moment, it is common but its important to get it treated soon so pop to your doctor and get referred for physio. I only get it at work and on very long drives. Yoga is a great help too, I do pregnancy yoga and I can tell it helps xx

I've been getting this from time to time mostly when sitting at the desk at work. I can only really describe it as an ache in my bum bone (coxic). Sometimes worse when I stand up after being sat for a while.

I get coccyx pain quite often when I have to sit for hours (planes in particular ARE a pain in the bum!) Sitting at the desk all day doesn't help either.
