Pain in the Bum!!!!

For the last few weeks I've been getting an awful pain in my bum that shoots down into my leg at various times when I'm walking! A few times its been so sudden and sharp that I've actually cried out loud and grabbed at my bum! Not a good look when you are crossing the road at the traffic lights with white van men on either side!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any idea what causes this and how to ease it? It really is a pain in the bum!

It sounds like sciatica which is very common in pregnancy!!

Yes it does sound like Sciatica I suffered with that for about a year before I got pregnant and then it seemed to disappear. I keep expecting it to return anytime!!!
Not really much you can do to be honest apart from take paracetamols.

I had this really badly a few weeks ago

I went to the chiropractor for a deep massage on the area, which helped.

Also, try putting a hot, then cold compress on the area. Really helps to both numb and ease it!

i had this earlier in my pregnancy and described it to OH as being like "ive been kicked up the ar*e" it went away the next day though and hasn't came back

I thought it was sciatica first but the doctor said because the pain wasn't a pins and needles sort of pain and didn't go all the way down my leg it was PGP. PGP is like SPD but at the back.
