Ow ow ow ow, well for the last week or so when I go to bed and then try and roll over on to a different side I get the worst pain ever in my groin, like I am tearing or have pulled a muscle or something (especially if I need the loo), but then when I get up in the morning its fine.

Until yesterday that was, now I am fine when sitting down there is no pain at all but when I stand up and try and walk I get the most horrendous muscle/ligament pain down the right hand side of my groin/pelvis area/inner thigh knickerline bit, I literally can barely move my leg or walk. It does sometimes wear off a bit and I had about 2 hours this morning where I was pretty mobile and in no real pain, but this evening wow it is bad for no reason whatsoever?

Has anyone else had this? do you think it is because baby is engaged?
I'm a bit concerened about it as I was fine until yesterday and this seems to have come from nowhere?? baby has been engaged for a while and I have had no spd or anything????

I've been getting similar pains for a couple of weeks. I'm putting it down to pressure from the baby on my pelvis, thats what it says in my pregnancy book

ah right thanks, its good to know I am not the only one as I was hoping it was just the baby getting in position!

Is it more like nerve pain? Could be sciatica?

hiya yeah in my pregnancy book meantions it could just be great pressure as the end is near :) but awwwww sounds painful! xx

It's bloody excruciating, feels like something has torn :'-( got no sleep last night as hurts to lie down, am only comfy when sitting upright, so rang community mw and they said if its not painful when sitting and not accompanied by bleeding or anything then it is just the babies head, I have to try and use my ball and move around to see if I can move his head where there is less pressure and it could settle or I might be stuck like this till he comes :(
Just gutted as have loads of housework to do, an online Tesco food shop arriving in an hour to put away, and was supposed to be going to a book fair this aft, and I can't even stand up to make a cuppa. Sorry for the moan, I was just doing so well and was so positive about the labour etc until this kicked in yesterday

Oh no! lets hope its just a tempory position and baby will free up on you. Not nice to feel like that when you have lots to do :( wish magical god mothers existed so one could come help you out! xxx

I Have had this sine 20 weeks. This was my SPD! Could be that, hurts more in the evening from where I've been mobile most of the day! Try sleeping with a big cushion in between your legs helps a bit! x

A pillow between your legs when you're laying down could help. I've had SPD for a while and it's exactly like this, it's horrific at night time, I have to us crutches to get to the loo! But at your stage it probably is just baby's head engaging.

It's a horrible type of pain, the pulled groin muscle pain is the worst, that's how my SPD started, but should go away after the birth and then you'll be holding your LO and it will all be worth it!

xx

I get this too, but only during the night when rolling over or getting up from bed. I find sleeping with a pillow between my knees really helps.

I hope it eases up for you, it must be agony all day!
