Hi I'm new to this forum! :-)

I've been on the pill since about September and I've came off it this month because me and my boyfriend have taken a long time to decide that we want to try having kids now!
I never really tracked my cycle properly, and I use an app but I only ever inputted my periods into it so I don't really remember what my cycles were like before the pill. They use to be quite late sometimes but after the pill they've been 28/29 days exactly. On my app it says I'm supposed to ovulate today and I'm getting some cramps that appear to sometimes be at the left and sometimes at the right of my i think it's the abdomen? They've mostly been more sharp in the right, I've never had these like cramps whilst on the pill and I don't remember before that. If it is ovulation cramps I hope we've caught it right, this is our first month trying :)

hi

I don't remember my periods before contraception but my cycle definitely got more regular when I first had my implant removed it was like clockwork for the first 6 months... I don't think I've had cramps around ovulation before but I know some women get some spotting around that time so I guess cramps are a possible sign for it... I've found the best way for me to know is EWCM which appears a couple of days before. One thing that helped me know my symptoms was ovulation tests for a couple of months so now I recognise the signs!

Fingers crossed for you!

Next month of trying I will get ovulation tests then :)
My periods were mostly irregular and very heavy, I assume this because I was very anemic then and the pill helped reduce the bleeding for me by like 75%! Coming off if I feel so much happier and it's improving things with me and my boyfriend, if I don't get pregnant this month I'm dreading what my period is going to be like and it will come on a weekend that I'm on holday :(

Good luck and welcome to the forum! we have been trying for 5 months after being off the pill for over 1 year. Still not caught the egg

Thankyou! I only had the cramps yesterday morning for a little while so I'm pretty sure they're ovulation cramps, I'm very hopeful because I never had that on the pill and my app told me I would release the egg yesterday! :)
Fingers crossed we caught it, tried in the morning and at night just the two week wait now that's gonna be the struggle, hope you catch the egg soon! :)

I get the cramps too and they're horrible.

It wasn't a nice feeling as they were quite sharp especially on the right side but I did feel it a little in the left side too, but they stopped after 2-3 hours. But I didn't mind it as it made me extremely happy thinking that this could be the time I get pregnant :)

Welcome :dust: and best of luck to you and your partner, I hope your TTC journey is a short one!
I've been on the pill for more than 10 years before getting off it. This is my first cycle post BC and I have no idea what to expect. As you can imagine, it's been a very long time since ovulating for me! I've been having sharp, almost a burning sensation on my right side, it almost took my breath away. Then later a few not so sharp pains on the left. I've been taking OPKs the last three days and had faint lines, which I have learned are not positive (it has to be darker than the control line before it is considered positive and oh, also you should not test with first morning urine, in case you are also new to this). I've had no EWCM but it has been watery although scarce. So, that's my experience so far (I'm on CD19 now) - hope you can maybe use some of the info xxxxx FX for you!! :hugs:
