My nipples hurt sooo much today.

I'm actually in tears feeding, and sooooo wishing I had formula in the house. And this is with shields on.

Anyone else have days like this?
How do u cope?

Is she latching on far enough? Just make sure she's got a whole load of boobie in her mouth not just nipple (Paige was a terror for this).

I don't really know what else to say as I had the same problem and gave formula in the end as I was crying with every feed and nipples bleeding etc. Not nice You have my upmost sympathey!

I had a days like that I just gritted my teeth and said oww when he went on lol! Have u got lanisonah on? I always thought it helped dunno if it was ln my head or not.

Im not sure if latch is the problem, cos we're having to use sheilds cos she wasnt latching to me at all, and ive not been brave enough to try without them.

yeah, ive got the cream, but im not convinced it makes all that much difference. xxx

forgot you used shields. Have you got a bf group in the next day or two? Could be worth popping along if you can and they should be able to help.

there might be one i can go to on friday.

I tried the other brand of shield i have this afternoon, and it didnt feel quite so bad. so maybe it was just a blip this morning.

My nipples hurt more when I used shields. It takes a while and mine still hurt by the end of the day but if you want to bf then try not to use formula as once you start you might not want to stop!!

I had this with shields too, all I can tell you is it will pass and in the meantime I just gritted my teeth. Lansinoh didn't really help me either cos it's more for cracked and damaged skin whereas with the shields it wasn't damaged skin, it was all fine, just really sore.

Omg!!!!!!!! I'm experiencing this I'm not using shields yet (dh going to buy me some tomorrow) I think his latch is fine 80% of the time but occasionally he does act like a Hoover on the nipple!!!

Do you recommend a certain brand of shield? Also are your nips temp sensitive? Mine feel like I have ice cubes attached to them

I've got TT closer to nature, and Avent. The TT ones hurt a bit more, but the Avent ones collect milk and do leak more. Lol. The. TT ones come with a little carry case though, that you use to sterilise them
In the microwave - its a god send.

Think it's a case of trial and error.
