OPK and ovulation

Just a quick question....what does everyone else (who doesnt temp) class as ovulation day....day after lh surge, day after cramps?? Not sure what to count as ovulation day...got my lh surge yesterday with a peak on cb fertility monitor and a definate darker line on opk. Got peak again today on cb fert mon and a strong line but not darker on opk. As i dont temp how do i know when ive ovulated as you can ovulate 24-48 hours after surge. guess im falling into the trap of counting down again.....argggh! any thoughts would be most welcome!

I don't think there's any way to tell for sure unless you do temp. For me once I got a peak/solid it was any of the next three days. I just couldn't commit to temping with my work hours, sometimes I do sleep ins which is a 24 hr shift. Some women say they can tell the moment of ovulation by cramping. But mine were always different, one day after to three days after.

If it were me I'd have sex in the two days before solid/peak and three/four days after for definite. That's what we did last month and it worked for us. I'd say you will be anytime in the next 3. Sorry I'm not actually much help. xx

What Shanivy said. You can ovulate from 12-48/72 hrs after first positive OPK. DTD a couple days before and after should have you covered pretty well. Good luck x

Thanks ladies and congrats on your bfp's! Will dtd again tonight (4th night in a row....exhasted...but fun!) I think im going wrong by assuming that i dont need to dtd the day after i get lh surge...always believed it was pointless as likely to have ovulated that day....hopefully dtd will cover us....not sure either us will manage again tom!i just hope its enough! Thanks again x

Even if you temp you can't tell for sure as for some women the temp shift takes longer. You can ovulate 12-48 hours after your surge. For older women it can be sooner or even before a pos opk. I take the day I get the stabby pains but I may be wrong. It's more an ovulation window of 2 days for me as I never now for sure. But if you dtd ever other day you are covered and if that includes day after surge then def yes.

Thanks sunflower...im 42 so i think ovulation happens a few hours or day after lh surge...surge was yesterday....also had cramps sat and sun so thinking as still got peak on cb monitor this morning we should dtd one last time in case i have ovulated today. We have dtd 4 night in a row including tonight and last weds as got high on fert mon. Makes sense regarding pain...i usually take that as ovulation day but then have always thought too late to dtd once this happens! Dtd tonight for luck! ....and fun....and to see if it makes a difference this time!

We dtd as the lines started getting darker for 2-3 days and then for 2-3 days after they starters getting lighter. X

Thanks ladies for your replies. Im hoping weve done enough....5 out of last 6 nights! Faint lines today so hopefully have ovulated.good luck to everyone else ttc x
