Ok - we are having a complete nightmare with names! Its not that we are arguing, we just dont like anything, but we had a girl breakthough!

Robyn Elizabeth(my name) Foxwell

We are not telling ANYONE as they all hate everything we suggest and it really annoys me, whereas I dont know any of you and wont take it personally!!

The only thing is she will have the same initials as my OH? Do you think this will cause a prob?

Also we are toying with George for a boy but the whole georgie-porgie thing is troubling me! What do you think?

I love the name you have chosen for a girl! It's such a lovely name-not common but not strange if you know what I mean! :D I can't see a problem with the same initials as her daddy!
I also love the name George too! If anyone calls him Georgie Porgie politely tell them to shut their gobs!
Choose a name you and your OH like it's not anyone elses choice!
We had the same problem deciding! We told people names we liked and they turned their noses up all the time! We liked Vernon but our surname is Rea (pronounced Ray) so everyone took the mickey cos it sounded like Vernon Kay! We soon changed our mind!
The same happened with most of the names we chose! You do the right thing not telling anyone till s/he is born!
Ooooh I've rambled on a bit haven't I? Anyway good luck choosing I love both your choices!

Hi Jools

Thanks! You are so right, from now on my lips are sealed and I;m so pleased to have at least one name decided on, its a relief as I was starting to get wound up! Although I secretly think I;m having a boy!!! :rotfl:

Hope you are enjoying your little one - I cant wait!

I don't think initials are a problem unless it's the same sex, ie, boy and dad or mum and daughter when it comes to post as people tend to put just the first initial don't they. Not my taste in names, no offence but as you said you won't take any, lol, just being honest.

The only time the same iniital is a problem is if they are the same gender... i.e. both Mr J Smith and they cannot tell who a letter is supposed to be for.

We have ruled out any names with the same initial as our own for this reason, but it depends whether it bothers you or not.

I like George too but also cannot decide whether to go for it or not. I can't imagine calling a baby such a grown up name, but then it won't be a baby for long!!

i TOTALLY sympathise with the nightmare of name choosing, and not agreeing. my OH an i have only just agreed on the perfect name for our princess 3 days ago, and i'm 35 weeks!

robyn elizabeth is pretty- and i like george (i'd never thought of georgie-porgie until u mentioned it, but now i cant stop lol!)

will she have all 3 initials the same? like topbird said its not so confusing when one is mr. and the other miss (or mrs. later on!)

I like both of them. I can understand not telling anyone, people can be so rude before baby's born but don't dare afterwards! We had a few people saying 'Austin Powers' to us when we told them what we'd picked for our son but noone's mentioned it since he's been born and I don't think it'll be a problem.

As long as you and OH like it, go for it!

I think Robyn Elizabeth is a lovely nameX :)

i like robyn for a girl. but george is really poular now you know. i was going to call my third daughter that if she were a boy and when i told the midwife she said ''oh that will be out 7th george today''
so i changed my mind

Robyn Elizabeth is gorgeous! George is lovely too , its popular but that might not bother you :)

Oh no! I ahve to say I was only 90% on George, I dont want a really popular name!

mmmm we have been mulling over Aurthur! I must say it was received with much horror from the familians (most of them saying oh dear it must be her hormones - how annoying is that!!) but I think it is quite cute, and we wanted something very english and thought ooh king aurthur!

Feel free to let me know you take on that one! :wall:

Robyn Elizabeth is lovely, particularly with that spelling.

Arthur is a great name for a boy. It is our first choice and everyone I've spoken too has said it's really cool. You get to read all the stories about King Arthur to him and then there are loads of famous people with the name (Arthur Smith, Arthur Miller, Art Tatum, Art Blakey, Art Garfunkel etc.) I think it's ace!

I didn't tell anyone our names until after the birth because I knew somebody would say they didn't like it which would have put me off using it. I like your name choices and I don't think that you have to worry about Georgie Porgie and even if anyone does say it there are worse things they could say. I think that kids will always find something to take the micky out of anyway if they want to.
