My boy turns 1 on Sunday, he still wakes every night with out fail, for a bottle and downs a good 6/7oz.

Up until 3 weeks ago he was still on 5 bottles a day, I've managed to cut them down to 3 a day, 1 morning 1 evening. and 1 middle of the day for 'nap time'

It's obvious he relies on the comfort of his bottle to fall asleep, although he does self soothe as he doesn't fall asleep actually drinking it.

So im guessing he's waking in the night, and screaming as he needs the bottle to settle again?

We took away his dummy when he was 71/2 months old, tried controlled crying and it was great, he slept through for a good 3 weeks, then a cold hit him, and I gave it and give him a bottle when he woke (oops)

He has a terrible cough and cold now, so won't be trying anything drastic yet as I don't think its fair on him.

Any advice or personal experiences? Im at a loss, I've tried leaving him for 30 minutes a week ago and he got absolutely hysterical, i think he's starting to test me due to his age? I've tried watering down feed (only did it 2 nights though as he fell ill) could try again i suppose. I've tried offering water and he goes mad!.
HELP! i need sleep!

Oh i forgot to mention he has a blanket as a comforter. Which he became attached to after we lost the dummy. x

My lg is 16 months and I tried everything to drop her night bottle. Watering down, water instead, moving it later and later, etc etc then we tried controlled crying ( to an extent) nothing worked!!
Then at 14 months ( moved her to oat milk instead a week previously, cow milk intolerant) and she just slept through one night and never asked for a night bottle again.

My friend had the same, moved her little boy to cow milk and he stopped asking for a bottle in the night a few nights later.

Is he on cow milk now?

Oh interesting. My boy is cows milk intolerant aswell, including soya. I never thought about changing over to another milk. He is still on Neocate
Does she still have the prescribed formula at all then?
xx

My little girl was on neocate. Milk and soya intolerant x

Had her appointment at 14 months and they told us to move her over to oat milk and use last two tubs of neocate to wean her from formula to oat milk.

Worked a treat for us. It's almost like the neocate didn't fill her up but the oat milk does.
She adores it now, has 3 bottles a day, morning, dinner and just before bed.
She goes to bed at 7:30/8:00 and gets up 7:30/8:00am.

She had a bad few nights recently but that's because they told us to start introducing cow milk and she's been unwell. As you can guess, made her super sick and horrible.

I'd consider leaving neocate and going to oat.

We weaned with 150ml neocate, 60 ml oat milk and lowered neocate every 2 days and increased oat.

Maybe he needs more than the neocate now,?!? The doctor said it's so broken down it passes through really quickly, where as oat milk will fill them up.
Whichever milk, has to have added calcium

Sorry if I've rambled :)
