Well on the advice of the Pead... I gave Corey a bottle of normal babies milk, Cow and Gate it was. He got 4oz down, and projectile vomited up 3 if not 4 of those oz, and then screamed for half an hour.

We know he has GORD (reflux) But that is controlled with drugs. And he is on a Hypoallergenic perscription formula for a Cows Milk Protine Intollerance. But we needed to establish if the GORD was caused by this intollerance... and this was the only way of doing it. Pead said give him normal milk for a week to see how he gets on, I called back after this one bottle and said I was not subjecting him to that again, pead agreed hes clearly CMP Intolerant. Atleast we know whats wrong with him totally now.

How on earth do you wean a baby that cant eat milk, every damn thing has milk in it!! Iv been told now (as I was being a little slacker with it, because we didnt know) that there is to be NO milk in his diet at all! He cant have Soy either, as hes intoerant to that too!

:( Im just.. Urghhh, I dunno what on earth do I feed him. I guess I really need to start making my own food, but seen as im the most useless person in the kitchen (bar making cookies, brownies etc) I dont even know where to start. I feel soooo bad for giving him the milk. I knew what was going to happen!!

My poor little baby  I hope he did get all of it out and it dont upset his belly!!

So apart from moaning on (I am sorry, just had to tell someone that might understand/or care). I guess I am asking, when I make food...can I use like dolmeo (sp) pasta sauce? Can I give him pretty much what we eat!? I looked at the pasta sauces and theres lots of salt in them?! I know babies are not supposed to have salt...

I thank anyone that even got this far reading. Never mind if you actually reply.

Thank You Very Much!

its really easy to make your own pasta sauce. Fry some onions and garlic in a pan. Then put in some tinned tomatoes or passata (a tomato sauce) and to it add some carrot, courgette, peppers, brocolli (any veg you wat) and cook it until soft. I add dried basil and oregano to mine and cook until it tastes yummy. Then depending on age of baby I would either blend it or leave it chunky. Works out loads cheaper then dolmio too.

i'd say make your own sauces too.
You can learn to cook. A few weeks ago the most i could manage was toast but since then i've made lots of things! try googling CMP and baby foods and see what you find. Can the doctors refer you to a dietician or anything for expert advice

faith is only lactose intolerant but i know how much hassle it can be!

Hey hun sorry your going thorugh this, poor Corey   excuse my ignorance if he cannot have this, but maybe something to think of when he is older..what about rice milk? or will it have gluten in it? I'm not sure, but i drink rice milk as i am not allowed dairy atm because of my reflux! poor little man i really feel for him!!

sounds like a very difficult position to be in.

I don't think you can give him normal adult sauces in jars, packets etc. They all contain too much salt. You can get special baby stock cubes from boots, or special baby ready made stocks from most supermarkets (in the baby aisle).

Go for something like sieved tomatoes or tomato passata (just check the label on the back that it doesn't have any salt in it). Baby's have to have under 0.5g of salt per day if they are under 1 I think (don't quote me, check it out on the government guidelines). I erred on the side of caution and tried not to feed Ash anything with salt in it.

You can get quite a range of homemade meals going with stocks, and tomatoey sauces. Your LO will just miss out on the creamy sauces.

Also, I found that adding some chopped eating apple (like Gala or Cox) to a meal, especially the ones with chicken or pork in, made them extra tasty! Onions are also good for adding taste, and red ones have a little bit of sweetness to go with it.

If you want a liquidy meal, just chuck a load of chopped veg and some meat in a casserole dish, add some water (or baby stock) to nearly cover it all, maybe a few herbs, etc and then bung a lid on and cook in the oven for just over an hour. Then liquidise and 'hey presto'! a tasty, homemade, meal for LO!
