Hi ladies,
We've been bfing now since M was born and has so far been going really with no problems.
I've recently noticed M has became really fussy and I think is getting a lazy latch.
When first getting her to latch instead of a nice open mouth she's got a mouth like a fish! So opening and closing which means I have to keep trying to get her to do it properly, resulting in a grumpy baby. What would make her all of a sudden become lazy?

It seems everytime I put her to my right side recently she isn't happy and doesn't feed as well on this side, always coming off and getting herself in a state. It's like she only wants to feed from this side when I'm really full.

I'm worried that my supply is going low and only seems to be strongest in the morning? The other day I just had a squeeze to see if there was milk as she was being so fussy and nothing came out!!

Just wondering if anyone has had this happen or has any advice?
Seems silly now I've written it all down!

xx

Ha ha this sounds like B recently!

She's gone off my right side, which used to be her favourite side! I think she prefers the comfort of snuggling up in my left arm now she is old enough to manoeuvre in! But to feed her in the right side I do it in the rugby ball position so she's still facing the way she would on left but I put her under my arm with her body against my side, this tricks her!!! Also I feed on right when she's sleepy!

As for fussy feeding if B pulls away, pushes me away or arches away I give her 3 attempts and try chatting away, singing or make silly noises to distract her then if she still doesn't feed I put it all away without making any fuss and carry on playing etc and try again 10/15 mins later! Sometimes they just aren't ready to eat!

How old is lo? X

Thanks twinkles! Think ill give the rugby ball position a try. LO is 9 weeks it's just recently all this has started. She is pretty strong too and pushes away and head butts me sometimes!
It just gets really tiresome x

Yup it sure does that's why I don't push it, they will eat if they at hungry! I express a bottle if we are out now too, otherwise the world would see my boobs in battle with my baby! X
