You can have tremadol (like Pethodine), a walking epidural or a total spinal block. All of which sound scarily to medical for my liking Other than that its massages, water therapy baths and stuff like that!

it snot as bad as you think,i never had any pain relief for all 3 of mine,and i just breathed through it and kept upright to help speed things up,a good way to fight the pain is to stand facing the wall with your hands on it,then when you get a contraction push into the wall as if your doing a press up,it really does help

you can get birthing stools so at least then you wont feel like your legs are going togive way

your delivery ward may have one or two in

Mel could you get some reflexology/acupuncture or something done before labour? My friend had a walking epidural and found it fab, she had an active labour but it took the edge off the pain.

I'm going to worry for you now

I can get reflexology at the hospital while im in labour katt! So no gas and air but a reflexologist there 24/7! Hungary is a friggin weird country.

they kept telling me to get up and walk about but i kept say NO cos i was too tired to move!! haha

I didnt like gas and air either.... warning girls if you have bad sickness in pregnancy and dont like funny tastes etc.. you will not like the taste of gas and air
