i was playing the cool card... feeling fine and just going with the flow... but now i've just shat myself... i'm getting hundreds of text messages and calls from family and friends wishing me luck... and it's now just hit home... oh my god!!! i'm about to go to hospital to face the worst pain of my life... i know i'm going to finally meet my LO and i'm still excited about that... but i'm scared too...

i've never fed, winded, washed, changed, held for more than 5 mins - a new baby...

just make sure you get the pain relief you want when you want it and you'll be fine. remember to breathe! cos i forgot it does help a bit. the more relaxed you are the easier it will all be xx

As for looking after you babe, don't worry. It'll all come naturally & don't forget you're not on your own.

The day after Jamie was born they showed us all how to bath babies & are there to answer any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

You'll amaze yourself Hayley, take whatever pain relief you need to - you may not use any, you just don't know.

I know everybody says it but it's true, as soon as the baby is born you forget the pain straight away. It's unreal.

As others have said, the midwives will show you how to change nappies, bath baby etc but there's nothing better than a parents instinct. You'll be absolutely fine.

Its not the worst pain silly!!! Its the best pain. You just breathe deep and you will be fine and have whatever pain relief you need
