o/h got his date for going away yesterday

21st March - last time I get to see him is 14th. Then he produces all these papers I have to sign as the benefactor of his will if he dies out there. :puke:

Rubbish. Nothing like the feeling of being filled with utter dread.

oh no huni!

i cant imagine how you are feeling right now...we are always here if you need a chat.

how long is he away for?

everything will be fine xx

Oh dear - my friend's hubby went out to Afghan in Nov, he's in the SAS, back in March for two weeks then back out til July. I cant imagine how you deal with it

He's out there for six/seven months, hopefully a copule of weeks r&r mid term but don't know when, so sad :-(

:( Sorry hun

We'll be here if you need to rant

Oh hun, thats terrible. I remember how upset i was when my brother went but your OH, i can only imagine the devastation and worry  xx

Thanks girls, it'll be a bit raw for a few days but I'll come round grand after that xx

 Poor you! make the most of your month together now, I cant imagine missing my OH for that long. You must be a very brave lady! Are they allowed to use skype over there? Its worth setting up if you can xxx

I really feel for you, it is horrible getting that deployment notice, and in a way the deployment has already started for you as he will now be getting sorted to go etc. My dh is waiting to get his deployment notice through now, I hate the waiting, I hate him going and I hate that first month he is away. After that, as much as I hate him being away you go onto count down and times goes by so much quicker, it is just getting through that first month. We are all here for you xxx

no there's no skype tiny I was asking him about that today, they have a computer that allows them to send text messgaes from their email address and then just regular emails, so even if I don't speak to him he can still sort of check in with me to let me know he's ok. Yes the waiting to go and first while of him being away is the worst, I'm just gonna ask for all the overtime going at work.

ah thats a shame, still at least you an send texts. My Dad went to Faulklands for 6 months when I was 7 and I remember making tapes for him to send in blueys, I was having piano lessons and wanted to play for him everytime but kept making my mum rewind and start again if i made a mistake cos I wanted to be perfect! He loved getting them cos they're somuch better than a letter. I think he mustve had a walkman! Nowadays with email and text you can keep in touch loads better.

Hope you manage to keep yourself busy, if all else fails you can easily lose hours to this forum!! x

oh hon...how scary for you.....keep positive if u can....we're all here when u need a shoulder xxx

 Princess. There's no other way to say it but it's just "sh.te" that they go on tour, especially to sandpits :(

My OH was away from November 08 - May 09 so I know what you're talking about. I tried just to not think about it until it happened but ended up bawling my eyes out the day before he left , whilst we were walking around TK Maxx of all places :roll: What a tool...

You're doing the best thing taking as much overtime as you can , as you probably already know that keeping busy is the way forward. Sounds so simple and dumb but it really works.

If you ever need to rant/let off steam/ chat, you know where I am
