lelands got another fever of 40 and this time i think he might have fitted, he was all joty and shaky , his got hossy appointment at 3.10  it seems to be co-inciding with another tooth cutting but nhs said its not normal to have a temp that high ! :(

I've been told that when teething babies can be warm but they don't have a temp. I'm sure you've already given calpol and bathed him down to try and get temp down. Hope he's ok   xx

Ava had two convulsions with a temp over 40
it was the scariest thing ive ever been through, hers was down to a kidney infection, but it has made me so paranoid checking her temp, the gp has given me paracetamol supositorys (sp?) But try getting one in when ur already panicked nightmare!!
Big hugs and i know exactly how u feel xx

Oh poor little man i hope he is ok hun! i hope the hosptial find out whats wrong and help him to get well soon

well that was worth it  theyve just put it down to another viral infection , that will be the 3rd since he cut his first tooth 11th oct , i know the immune system is low when they teeth but 3 teeth and 3 infections of fevers like this surely isnt normal ? tbh im not happy , my boy is deffo not happy :( starting to worry something else is going on . or am i being paranoid ? i know they say babies usually cut a tooth and get a cold but temps of 40 mad and he hasnt even got cold like symptons , maybe and lil runny nose but nothing like when his had a full blown cold !!

I wouldnt be happy with that Gem most babies cut teeth with little more than being a bit extra grizzly..surely it can't be right that teething is causing his temp to soar like that? what hospital did you go to? i would ask them to investigate further if you think it could be something else, i would..you know your son the best, look at all the stories where parents have been fobbed off with "its a viral infection"..i would keep at them to be honest!!

last time it was watford a&e , today we've been to the harmoni clinic in hillingdon outpatients , think its like the out of hours doctors .
i know his ill , his cuddling and only wants to be cuddled , for anyone who knows leland he hates cuddles !

Ah the poor little thing :-( all mummies know when there babies arent well you just tell by there sad eyes!!
Well i would take him to the doctor and tell them whats been happening and ask if this is what it is going to be like everytime he cuts a tooth or if they could do tests to rule out anything else being wrong!!

Hiya hun, Ellie is exactly the same today, no cold symptoms except really high temp & slight cough so we took her to be checked out and she has an inflammed throat so we've been told its a viral infection too. We've been told that her temperature could rise up to 40 (It was 39.2 earlier) but just gotta keep her well hydrated, give calpol & nurofen, keep her cool etc. Hubby has just had a nasty cold/flu so im thinking its probably the start of that but such a high temp is always best to be checked i think. She looks so poorly & fed up, shes really sleepy & you can just tell by her eyes she's unwell :(

Hope Leland is better soon

Oh hun

I would go with your gut instinct and take him to yet another hospital.
You can tell that this is not like him and it does seem concerning that he is hitting 40 without the sysptoms of a cold.
Hope you get to the bottom of this hun

both my kids have had massive temps when teething..teds also ill hes got croupe..he is better off being at home because there will b kids with tummy bugs flu etc at hospital.. i would use calpol and ibup.. keep him cool i keep the fan on when my 2 are hot just to keep the air fresh (not right on them obv) but it works. gl hope hes ok..remember keep him cool but dont put him in a cool bath or anything..

its like de-je-vu , just like last time it happened his just thrown up everywhere after his night bottle , and it stunk :puke: i cant taste it it was that gross ! but his now in bed asleep , managed to get some ibro in him ( it was durring the attempt that he threw everywhere) , i just feel so helpless and dont know how im gonna get through this with every tooth !!!??!! the prospect is scaring the poo out of me ! also its not his top 2 mid coming , its one the the side , is that normal !!!

hope ellie feels better jo , think were in for long nights chick

what a night ! how do you girls that co-sleep every night do it , feel like i havent slept ! he kept waken and crying out while asleep too and wanted to be VERY near me bless him , i did like having him next to me tho , saved me running to nursey on every cry and i liked being able to check on him , hubby slept on the sofa hahaha

Aww hun, you poor thing. Ella had a really high temp last week and she was sick, NHS direct said that they are often sick with a temp as a way of reacting to the temp.

If you are worried about this, ask for a second opinion and keep asking.

Hope Leland is feeling better soon

Sarah xx
