Hi girls,

Currently running round the house cleaning as it's the only thing within my control.

I've to go in tomorrow at 2pm (after just returning from hosp due to reduced movements) and I'm scared out my wits. Any advice/tips? X

Oh bless you! No advice I'm afraid (am a ftm) but wanted to send hugs and reassurance that being nervous is normal (I'll be in a similar position at some point in the next week or so and am on that edge already!)

Just remember you are getting the best present ever at the end of it - your little one in your arms!

Good luck hun, will be keeping an eye out for news xx

Thank u v much Mrs I appreciate it. Will be back on soon with labour updates and induction story for anyone who is interested and will be doing the same thing.

Very scared but so so excited to know baby will be here soon x

If you have a drip to be induced don't worry about knocking or moving when it's in. I kept my hand still the whole time as I was scared about it hurting or knocking when I had it in but while I was giving birth my hand was going all over the place and didn't feel a thing x

Housework sounds good within reason. Tire yourself so you get a good rest, but don't overdo it.
Best of luck for tomorrow xx

I would say get as much sleep as u possibly can before tomorrow. Inductions can be very long and tiring and i was so excited i didnt sleep when my body was telling me too. Listen to ur body huni. I hope it isnt that long for u. And just think in a few days u will have a beautiful baby in ur arms x

Thank u girls and thank u for the tip Rachel! I'll near that in mind.

I've taken a few magazines in to keep me entertained for a while - I'm just praying its not a week long induction!! Anyone know how long they let u go before c section is considered x

Get lots of rest tonight. You need your energy for your wee bundle arriving :-)! Good luck xx

I had an induction for the same reasons as you, and I promise it won't be as bad as you think! I had a pessary (like a tampon string) put in at 9am,and didn't feel a thing till 11pm, then was in full blown labour and had my son at 8am. I've got nothing to compare it to but I was surprised at how different (in a good way) it was than I had imagined. Breathe LONG AND DEEP on gas and air to get the best out of it. People usually take a few panicky puffs and say it isn't working, but it really helps to go long and deep. I didn't need any other pain relief, and just so you know, I, a wuss with pain and even need magic cream prescribed for needles.

Good luck. Don't panic, breathe deep. Everything you're feeling now is natural. You'll smash it xxx

It depends entirely on individual circumstances, how you are and how the baby is.

Do try to rest as much as physically possible. I'd had a bad nights sleep the night before I went in. If I'd had known that I was going to end up in hospital getting induced that day I would have tried to get more rest and sleep.

Did they have a reason as to why your movements have reduced or have they just arranged an induction to be on the safe side? Just wondering as I've been in twice with no answers each time n sent away so now I'm reluctant to go in if movements reduce again. Good luck for tomorrow your bundle of joy will soon be in your arms :) xx

For me i was induced by a persery on sunday at 2... i got another that night and one on monday morning i was a ftm and so can be quick or very slow. I was induced at 40 weeks due to being borderline diabetic. My waters broke at 12:30 on Monday and contractions started i progressed to 8 cm that evening and stayed that way over night. Due to failure to progress i was sectioned and my son was born at 14:44 on the Tuesday. The failure to progress was down to babys positioning. All inductions r different just listen to ur body xx

Hey mrs!, I was due to be induced anyway as I have a blood condition (lupus) and also the baby is measuring beyond huge even though there's no reason for it (no GD etc). I went in today after not being able to feel baby moving for about 4/5hrs other than the very odd kick. The midwife that seen me said that if I had come in at 39wks plus with reduced movement they likely would have booked an induction even if I didn't have one planned already. Hope that info helps?

Also!, thanks girl for the support and advice, I'll likely be on the board tmz to keep my mind off of how long it might take. Praying it won't be a three day induction x

Thank u girls. Im currently hooked up to the CTG awaiting the first cervical check and pessary going in. Praying that it will help but I suspect I won't be so lucky and ill need another.

I'll update later xx

Nothing doing, I'm not sure why I expected it to in an hr and a half!! X
