Hey girls, got my middy appointment at 11am, Im 11 weeks today too and feel things are progressing im also getting funny feelings in my tummy kinda of like bubbles but very low down but could be anything i guess lol!

Do you think if i ask she will let me hear the heartbeat??

Hiya hun sorry only just seen this, hope you got to hear bubs, i know my friends midwife struggle to find her bubs heart beat at 16 weeks lol!

I too have been feeling a very slight bubbling sensation in my lower belly area be interesting to know if we are both feeling the same!

Thanks girls it went well shes nice but she wont be my middy some lady at my surgery will be and even then she wont be at the birth is that normal?

I just thought i'll be going into labour and no one i know will be there except hubby

Yeah thats normal, depending on your area and so on. My previous MW at my old GP's surgery would not have been attending the hospital I'd have given birth in as she only covered the MW led unit at the local hospital, not the consultant led one at the main hospital. If that makes sense. My new MW only deals in homebirths and will not attend if I go to hospital. I've opted for a homebirth so all being well will have her plus another MW attending

Depending on which hospital you choose to go to for your ante-natal and birth you will hopefully meet some of the MW's who might attend. There are usually two teams on opposite shifts at my main hospital. Don't meet any of them till I take the tour in a few weeks. Just how it is with hospitals alas, busy places and not really as personal as we would like. But hopefully you get to meet some of them and like them.

And 16 weeks makes sense re the heartbeat. Some don't like to try before you have had 12 week scan as it can be hard to detect etc. Mine didn't offer before that, only from 16 weeks on.
