I'm Off to see the anesthetist tomorrow to find out if I can have an epidural as I have a cuviture of the spine. I can so if I have to have a c.section I wil be awake
The anesthetist was really nice (and pretty) and it turned out that she was brought up about a mile from where I was brought up near Bristol which was spooky.
She said it is pluasbly for me to have an epidurial but that it may take a lot longer to put in and they just won't know until the day. She said it was very rare to use General anesthetic for a C section. She said what they could offer is to put in the line and put a small amount of epidurial drug in to see how and where it would affects me which leaves the door open.
She did warn me that I would have more of a chance of getting a headache afterwards.
I said I wanted to give gas and air a go but at least having the line in just in case they have to do a c.section would be a good idea
Well i hope all goes well for you on th eday and if you need an epidural then they allow your to have it and it doesn't take to long to get put in place for you.
Glad you're able to have one if necessary, I'm sure they'll take extra care of you x I'm seeing an anaesthetist next week to see if I can have one also, fingers crossed! xx
