Odhrán got his first shoes today :)

We finally went to Clarks for Odhráns first, and I mean first ever shoes The only other shoes that went on him were a teeny 0-3 pair of adidas guddies when he was tiny.. He loved it! He's a 5G and waddled off once I stood him down with them on My baby is definitely not a baby anymore! x

awww i used to fit shoes at clarks and it was always funny watching babies walking in shoes when it was their first pair x

PinkPunch they were £22 for the cruisers, she said he's only going to get until around the end of May in them.. And 5 is the biggest size in the cruisers so it will probably be dearer the next time xx

Aww RBryan that would be a fab job, tantrums aside of course they took his photo and put it on a height chart which I thought was a really nice touch, also a feet growing record, it was quite emotional haha x

lol awww cruisers are like an inbetween u wait till he has the heavier shoes he will walk funny till he gets used to the weight lol

(Sorry if this is a bit of a downer but as we are on the subject) my sister has got problems with her feet and when she went to the foot specialist they told her that she shouldn't get Clarks shoes for children as they are too stiff. They recommended jelly shoes of all things! All very strange as I know people have been buying Clarks as their first shoes for generations.

aw and he's got massive feets! K's only a 5g now haha! although thats in startrite and they're smaller for some reason! taking them to get measured tomorrow, cos Es outgrown hers, she's only in a 3g atm

babys shouldnt have proper leather shoes till they can walk a length of a room unaided because it means there foot is fully developed properly x

Yeah I was going to say that, when I worked in Next I was on kids shoes for months and were trained being told that a child must ne able to walk "properly" before they're put in shoes with hard soles as it could affect the childs foot in the future, I don't know how many people I had to explain that to little kiddies that hadn't even took first steps were getting hard soles shoes put on them, must be so uncomfy.. I think that's another reason why I didn't try harder to get Odhran shoes, Next scared me think I will keep him in the cruisers until he is well and truly walking xxx

yes i had more disagrements with parents and sold more kids shoes as unfitted but least most ppl are sensible x

Es gone up to a 4! no wonder it was tough getting her in her 3s! she's catching up on K aswell, she's still only a 5.5! we very nearly had problems with Ks shoes cos she went straight into the last size of the cruising shoes when she was only just cruising! was preparing myself for a battle when i took her when she outgrew them cos she was still only just taking a few steps and i'd been told they wouldnt give her walking shoes, but luckily i got someone with a bit of common sense that realised there were special circumstances
