Hiya I spoke to my doctor a few weeks back about my feet. hands, arms and legs itching badly in the evenings and she did blood tests for OC but they all came back normal. The itching is getting worse and worse now and is on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet as well and it gets so bad particularly on my legs in the evening I find it hard to sit still or concentrate on anything.
Do the blood results always show up as abnormal to start with? Should I meantion it to the doc when I see her friday? I feel such a hypochondriac already having high BP and GD :rotfl:

mine showed up as OC staight away but i think sometimes they don't,defiantley get re-tested hun!
i hope its not OC!

i agree... sometimes it can take a little while to show in your bloods (well thats what ive been told a few weeks back).

the docs / mw's are there to put your mind at ease and if it is regular blood tests that would do it, demand them!!

hi mik i hope it goes okay tomorrow,be sure to ask them for re#tests for the OC!

My sister just found out she has OC and she had a blood test on Tuesday and they called her 10pm tuesday night with the results that she had it.

Hope you find out the answer soon

Got a phonecall to say my docs appt is cancelled my doc is ill and noone else has room to see me. Not sure what to do now I have a mw appt Tuesday so probs wait till then

I was tested for this a few weeks ago and nothing showed up. Had test following week and the levels had gone up, was tested again Thurs just gone. The itching that night became much worse so I called the hosp - they said they couldn't do anything till they had my blood results and that I'd survive the itching over the wk end (didn't really like the way I was spoke to - like I was a nuisance!). Anyway I got a call on Friday night to say all was fine as the bloods had come in early.

I hope everything is ok for you too, fingers crossed.

im so pleased you dont have OC,it is truly awful! :O(
hope you are OC free aswell mik!

its weird cos I still have the itching - I can only describe it as prickly heat on the soles of my feet, arms and legs, and generally just at night. the hospital suggested I see my M/W for something for it, if its nothing serious I think I'd rather just ride it out now and ope it stops once L/O is here.

if it continues push for a repeat test..... My MW said that it can take a few days to show in the bloods (how i don't know, but the lady has got me through two cases of this and has never steered me wrong!).

Get some aquasis cream and keep it in your fridge. if you GP or MW say its ok, try piriton encase it is a reaction to something. camomile lotion has been suggested to me in the past.

hi jussy i second what sam says,do push for repeat blood tests as i dont think OC always shows up straight away!
