One of the many "ailments" that Aaron has

They aren't too worried about it but he will be referref to and ENT specialist in a few months.

I was just wondering if anyone else had experience of it, or any other form of sleep apnoea?

My mum has sleep apnoea, she has oxygen at night for it but she is also suffering from emphasima.
Xxx

My dad has it! He has to wear a cpap at night, but apart from that it doesn't really bother him now! Sorry I'm not much use

My Mum and my partner both think that I have it, I know I snore (Mum says I have done since I was a baby) and they say that it sounds like I stop breathing in my sleep and then start again suddenly. Even before I got pregnant I never felt like I had a decent nights sleep, I'm always tired. I've never been properly diagnosed by a doctor because I've never told them about it, but it's on my 'to do' list for this year as I'm sick of it, and I want it sorted.

When I was younger the GP noticed that I have MASSIVE tonsils (which can be a cause), and sent me to see ENT but they did nothing about it (hugely annoying as I get horrible tonsillitis). When I was younger my GP also said something about me having a 'deviated septum' which is basically a narrowing of one of my nostrils making it harder to breathe through my nose. Again, nothing was ever done about it. I really, REALLY wish that it had all be sorted while I was younger, as I'm pretty sure it has affected my life ever since.

Alex snores (although not all the time and not as loudly as me - thank god!) so when he's a bit older I will be asking them to check him out (especially if it turns out I do definitely have it, as it can run in families I believe) as I don't want him suffering like I have.

I hope that Aaron's isn't too severe and that they can sort out some effective treatment for him - definitely best to get it sorted as early as possible :)
