Ive just gone through the hospital bag list Ive got printed and think Ive got pretty much everything but I havent yet bought any nursing bras (well not ones that fit properly)
How do you know what size to buy?
I bought two in the mothercare sale and they are too big (only slightly) but I dont want to keep them for my milk to come in and they are too small. How many sizes should I expect to go up?

I asked the same question recently. I wasn't sure how to know exactly what size to buy... and no one knows exactly what size you'll be - you can only guess.

I went to Marks and Spencers - they measure you when you've got about 2-3 weeks left to go, but basically just told me to buy 1 size up. So at the moment i'm a 34D, and I bought some 34E nursing bras. I just hope they're going to be ok, but I bought bras with quite stretchy fabric so there's a bit of give!

If I'm honest I haven't a clue either! I haven't been fitted for nursing bras yet and at this rate I'm not going to get the time....think I may leave it until i get home with the baby. I presume I'm gonna just be wearing PJs in the hospital and I have a few of those strappy tops with the support inside that I think I can survive in before venturing out to get measured!
I've gone up 2 cup sizes already... I dont even want to hazard a guess what it will be when my milk comes in!

When I was about 5 months pregnant I went to M&S and asked if they do measuring and was told the do a fitting service, I had to pick a bra off the shelf and they told me whether or not it was a good fit. I honestly had to guess at a size as I had gone up a few by that point.

Does mothercare do an actual measuring service? I didnt see anything saying so when I last went to mothercare world

how bizarre?!! each time i've been to M&S or Debenhams I've asked if they can measure me (both when pregnant and not) and they've been fine and measured me!

maybe your shop assistant was being a lazy moo!!?

Mothercare should have a fitting service although the last one I was in didnt even have a changing room! :wall: despite the fact they sold bras!

Yeah, I think this is what they do now at M&S. I bought some maternity bras from there and it was the same - I had to choose from the shelf, then the lady told me if it fitted properly. To be fair, she did go back out for me and got a bigger one, then stayed with me to check it was right - but she never actually measured me as such.

Don't think it was a one-off either as before I was pregnant I got measured and it was the same deal.

I've read to get fitted at 36 weeks and that's usually the size you end up being while feeding... I didn't know they got bigger still

I hot measured for mine at M&S last week and need a 36G!! :O They actually fit jst now and there is jst a lilttle room for when my boobs grow even more after milk comes in, but lady advised jst 2 get them (2 pack) and get re-measured again 2-3 weeks after baba is here. I always get measured and buy bras from M&S and lways found them to b very good
