I am going back to work in March part time til June when I will go full time, I'd love to not have to but thats not really an option, I used to work in the nursery down the road so have booked her in there because I know how quickly they get booked up as they only have space for 6 babies at any one time, I had a letter yesterday saying I need to confirm days I want so they can invoice me for deposit which is half of first months fees  hadn't even considered that I might have to pay this already baby isn't even due for another 8 weeks! I have no idea where Im going to find money from was worrying about finding the extra I need to pay off my loan as it was without this :(

how stressfull! babies are just so costly, and it doesnt help when people want their money before they even deserve it!!! I hope you work it out, if not just smuggle her in and pretend she's one of the othet babies.

Oh no! :( Don't fret too much though hun, at least it would be one less thing to worry about nearer the time when you've got all the stress of going back to work, paying for other things for baby etc.

Thanks for posting this though because I hadn't even thought about the waiting list for nurseries!

 xxx

The nursery attached to my work had the same deposit needed so I decided to leave it until I was sure I was going back or using them as it is non-refundable  TBH I'm not sure I can afford to return to work as we'll get no WTC towards nursery fees and what with petrol and my rubbish wages, I'll be working for nothing  (Although I am very lucky in that OH earns enough to keep us, if I decide not to go back). I really resent the way that nurseries/childminders force you into making a decision before your LO is even born though - I have no idea whether I'll want a break from him in 9 months time but if I leave booking childcare until then, it'll be too late too get him in anywhere.

Thanks girls  Mildly I know just what you mean its so hard having to make these decissions when we haven't even met our LO's yet and have no idea how we will feel about leaving them etc I know I need to go back to work and will be part time at first so at least wont have to pay as much as if was going straight back full time in March but its still alot to find when your not expecting it. I struggled so bad deciding what to do for the best about work I felt under alot of pressure to decide as early on as 8 weeks and its so hard then cause all I was worried about was making it to second tri and taking it from there! I'm still not sure if working full time will be really worth it by the time we've paid nursery fees but going to worry about that at the time I don't want to cause me or baby upset or stress by worrying about it all now!

Blimey, I can't believe they want a deposit so early! I've been thinking about this lately but really don't know whether I'll return to work straight away or not or for how many days etc so it's impossible to arrange anything this early. I did visit one nursery and they said no need to register until 2 or 3 months before though so I guess it can depend on where you live.

Anyway, the main thing is try not to stress about it and enjoy your first few months with LO....like Dannii said, if you definitely know what you're going to be doing at least paying now will avoid some costs later on
