i went into work today and after a couple of hours was called into the office to be told today would be my last day and i had to leave!!
I was given the excuse that a customer had made a complaint this morning which was actually mostly unfounded, although i have been had a go at a few times for stupid things i have never had a verbal let alone a written warning, all this is about me going on holiday in a couple of weeks and them wanting to replace me before i go.
I told them i cant leave before end of September and she said its her final decision.
Oh and get this, my boss is my mother in law.
So what do i do now as not only am i out of a job i now wont get SMP? :x

Id contact citizens advice.
Stuff her being your mother in law, that makes it even worse.

Sacking a pregnant woman leaves any company on shaky grounds, never mind if theyhavent even bothered to give her a warning

They have to give you a decision in writing regarding a dismissal and you should have also received prior warnings etc. I would contact ACAS and/or CAB for advice.
even temps and casual workers have maternity rights, sounds like thy're trying to get out of paying you maternity leave etc.
you could do them for unfair dismissal, regardless if it's family or not!

i have been trying the CAB since i got home but cant get hold of anyone

I found ACAS really helpful when I had stuff going on at work.

What does you OH say?! I can't believe she would do that you can do her for discrimination!

that's discrimination hon - sod the fact that she's your MIL, you need to take this further. what does your husband say about all of this?? i think its disgusting :x :x

because mu husband wouldnt agree with why she sacked me she has sacked him too so now we really are up shit street.

Unless you are on a three month probabtion period I don't think she can just sack you without verbal then written warnings.
