I dont even think its a real surname. Its just a pisstake.
The only names that go with it are names that are already in the family. Im not sentimental, I dont want to use one. So on the NO list, is:

I'm a childminder and look after a little boy called Enzo. His sirname is Brumfield so quite similar to yours.

I've also looked after a little boy called Zia (unisex name) who's sir name is Shirfield. His little brother is called Cassiel.

Sorry i'm not much help with girls names!

These are all quite unusual names but I hope they can be of some help!

I feel your pain - although I don't think Benfield is bad at all would rather that then my surname!!!

Try getting a name to go with 'Chidgey' - argh! I'm stuck with it now as it's my husbands family name, I find it so difficult to think of any names that go with it!!! No one ever pronounces it right either!!
