Woooo I'm excited, been looking at my Calander and how much I've got coming up these next few weeks, first my 34 midwife appointment then the same weekend when I get to 35 weeks ( every Sunday I hit a mark today 33) I've got my baby shower which I am really looking forward to. Then I've got some little bits and bobs to put in babies room one more piece of furniture the changing table which will be stocked with first size nappies a hell of a lot of wipes and obviously the changing mat. Been seeing loads too, by the time that week has gone I'll be 36 weeks so really my weeks are gonna be really busy and then he'll either want out at the end of August or I'll go to due date :D yayyyyy. I really am super excited now, as a first time mum I've had loads to get to grips with but my god we got it done! Now I want to reorganise the nursery....he's dropped already I can feel his noggin pushing down and I am really looking forward to actual birth? Call me crazy which I know I am I just can't wait to hold my bundle even if it's gonna hurt like hell! Any mommies on here got the best tips for labour? Dos and don'ts? What helped you the most? I can't wait to see your posts when your bundles are here too! Doll eyes and myself are on the same due date so it's creeping in now hehe xxx

I don't know where the time goes when we get near the end! It's crasy isn 't it. Sounds like you have plenty of nice nesting things to do for a few weeks. Can't help on labour unfortunately but if you end up with a section then just shout ;)

Enjoy nesting x

Best tip for labour from me would be when you're taking deep breaths - zone in on a single point in front of you and focus on deep and slow breaths in and out. Shut everything out and focus on the breathing, I did that and got to 5-6cm at home with 13 minute back-to-back contractions and no pain relief. Really helps you feel like you're in control, don't let the pain win!

I know violet, right there on the excitement with you! 49 days to go! We'll be labour symptom spotting soon xx

Not weird at all Violet - I really looked forward to labour with my daughter and even though I now know how much labour hurts I am still looking forward to it just as much this time round too. The excitement of the progress and knowing you are getting really close to meeting baby just makes all the pain worthwhile :D

No great labour advice from me I am afraid as I really did not deal as well as I had hoped with the pain, I am afraid I just screamed a lot until I was dilated enough for the drugs haha. I never realised until in labour that you are not allowed drugs until you are 6cm dilated (or maybe my hospital was just mean?! Would love to know if anyone else was told this)- not even gas and air!

I will say you should try not to lay on your back too much as I really think that is partly why my labour took so long as no help from gravity, so this time I plan on trying to keep moving for as long as I can.

Good advice from Kumber though, I am definitely going to try and just breath through things properly this time and practice breathing a little before labour as I didn't bother last time and it probably would of helped me! x

Thank you ladies, it's just so close now I'm getting so excited can't really keep still, reorganised babies room and changed it round now I'm happier with how it looks and did his toy box sounds crackers when he's not gonna be old enough for some things haha xxx

Im 38 weeks today and feel like we still have so much to do in the house. Seems like the only thing thats ready quickly in pregnancy is the baby making its arrival arghhhh not long now! Lol xx

Haha I've got visions of turning into a wailing banshee in labour, I usually think I've got s high pain threshold, but doubt it during labour! I didn't realise that about 6cms H so that's good to know. My mum has a tens machine that I'm gonna try, although I hated it when I trapped a nerve xx

Got to agree with Kumber on the breathing technique, I also imagined blowing the pain away with each exhale which really helped. I was 8cm when I got to hospital and had no idea I'd progressed so much. :-)

Keep moving in labour...gravity helps baby drop further!

I also remember the MW at ante natal saying when you get to pushing make each one count, try not to scream out as it wastes the energy you can use to push! Worked for me though it turned out I wasn't a screamer anyway haha! Pushing only lasted 20 minutes!

Go for a pool if you fancy the idea and there is one available, I loved it! Xx

Really good point about screaming from pin badge! If you're screaming, you're not pushing. Don't worry about how to push, just listen to your body. It knows what to do so trust what it's telling you and go for it. Don't second guess yourself, you'll know when to push too.

This is why an epidural is not for me I'm not in control and have to be told when to push. I'm looking forward to the experience more so because at the end I get my baby :) xx
